At the Granicus, Alexander ignores cautious advice and drives his cavalry across the river under a storm of Persian arrows. In brutal close combat he kills Mithridates, survives a blow to the head, and is saved at the last instant by Cleitus. The Persian line collapses, Greek mercenaries are slaughtered as a warning to all traitors, and Alexander wins his first great victory against Persia — knowing the war has only just begun.

On the TV show Smallville, the character Lionel Luthor saw himself as a modern-day Philip II of Macedon to such an extent that named his first-born son after Philip's own son, Alexander the Great. It actually seems appropriate that Superman’s archenemy Lex Luthor was named after Alexander the Great.
Great alxander
❤🤍💙 all your video's mate👍.
Battle of Granicus:
When the whole army clashed, because the Persians were on a more steep bank than the Greeks, Alexander led the right flank to ride parallel, with the Persian left flank following him. Suddenly a cavalry unit led by Socrates began to cross the river and clashed with the Persians. Alexander then found an opportunity and Flanked the left flank of the Persians, scattering it and the Persian army retreated so as not to be flanked. Only the Greek cavalrymen remained behind, who were surrounded and slaughtered, while those who fell were sent for forced labor in Greece.
The defeat at Granicus was disastrous for the Persians, as all the forces and governors of the provinces of Asia Minor were annihilated there, leaving the cities helpless and headless to Alexander. Only Memnon, who survived, was able to organize defenses in Miletus and Halicarnassus.
