About OFI:
OFI, a singer and dancer born and raised in LA. Mixed Armenian, Mother Black American and Philippine, Father Armenian. She was raised by her Armenian grandmother who has brought her up in the Armenian community, which was pretty difficult considering Armenian people were new to seeing someone different. Its not very common in Armenia or the community to see someone with darker skin or different features, because they are not very diverse. Knowing fluent Armenian was probably the best thing to have, because high school was where she got bullied most. She was belittled and told she wouldn’t become anything. She was told she was never going to be accepted in the Armenian community for being different looking. So OFI started working on herself and trying to create something for her future. OFI outside of OFI is know as Ofel. Besides music Ofel has been dancing for about 16 years, music academy was also a big part of her life, she took quite a bit of singing lessons and piano lessons. Her passion for creating music started when she was in middle school but she was told she didn’t have the voice for it. Until she had the small opportunity at 18 to sing to a friend, and she did. This small opportunity became one of the biggest that she has gotten. Quickly moving, Ofel met the people who were going to be helping her and pushing her reach these goals. Everything pulled together so quickly and OFI was born. She started working hard to get her music heard. Her plan was to create music without a single genre, she wanted to be very diverse because she wasn’t a single ethnicity. OFI now 19 is signed to Ace Life Entertainment working on incorporating diversity and dance into her music living out her passion to make music and entertain.
