something that has helped me is setting a low daily percentage goal like 5% account growth daily which isn't big moves but 5% daily adds up really really fast.

I would say the opposite, i would say put in an amount your willing to lose, and trade trade trade, you'll start to see when it works, when it doesnt, but you're not losing massive amounts of money, you're basically paying to see how the market works, keep doing that until you're win rate is up and you're making more than you're losing then consider investing more.
