I'm from Istanbul. Much as I empathize with Armenians' sorrow and agony during the early 1900s, the only thing I can say at this moment is that, the very thing I long to see before I leave this world is for the borders to open. Shake their hands, hug them all. Get to a cafe, have a drink. Share stories. Have a walk outside and keep listening to them all. We'll both feel emotional and cry for each other. We were together for centuries but just due to a recent historical event we're left with this situation.
Armenian culture and heritage have left a lot for Anatolia, not Azerbaijani culture. I would like to learn more. I want to hear your side of the story and compare this with the mainstream narrative. Best wishes. 🥰🥰😊😊

Pashinyan is right on this one, PBD doesn’t fully understand what Pashinyan meant, this is a very deep topic, almost whole world recognized, at least big ones, but nothing changed, but people who live in Armenia struggle more and more after any next country recognizes. Nikol Pashinyan is a pragmatic leader. There is a difference between honoring and remembering history and being held hostage by it. If he succeeds in making peace with Azerbaijan and normalizing relations with Turkey, Armenia could virtually overnight neutralize its greatest national-security vulnerability: entrenched hostility with its neighbors. The choice is stark: continue a generational cycle of retaliation like Israel and Palestine where they only know of violence, war and suffering or make peace and unlock a future in which Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey all stand to prosper as neighbours.
