There are parts of being Armenian that I hope we never lose 🇦🇲
Our resilience.
Our work ethic.
Our discipline.
Our love for our families.
Our respect for our parents.
Our ability to somehow ALWAYS know a guy who knows a guy 😂
But somewhere along the way, some of us started confusing looking successful with actually being successful.
$200k car parked to look happy on the exterior shell but still needing to address what’s on the inside.
Presidential Rolex on the wrist with payments attached to it just to “put you in circles” with people who are only shallow and can’t offer you a valuable relationship/partnership (professionally, personally, or intimately).
Living for the approval of people who aren’t paying your bills, dealing with your stresses, or bailing you out of your problems.
And some of y’all took the Armenian entrepreneurial spirit a little TOO serious and turned that shit into MASSIVE fraud 😭😂
Social media has tainted a lot of immigrants.
Yes, America’s the greatest country ever. The land of opportunity.
But the American Dream that used to be so wholesome and beautiful has turned into a massive greed oriented way of living.
And our culture is one of the many that has fell victim to it.
Keeping our culture alive doesn’t mean we have to keep every habit that came with it.
Keep the ambition.
Keep taking care of mom & dad.
Keep working your ass off.
Keep building.
But remember that the biggest flex was never supposed to be what’s parked in the driveway or sitting on your wrist.
It’s building a life you’re actually proud of.
Taking care of the people you love.
Having your priorities straight.
Keeping God at the center of it all. 🙏🏼
You can take an Armenian out of Armenia, but you can’t take the Armenia out of an Armenian.
Just make sure you’re holding onto the right parts. 🇦🇲❤️
