So what is an NFT Art? I decided to make a special edition about NFTs because I thought some of my followers might not have heard about it. NFTs are a new phenomenon that allow digital artists to sell their work. The Art world has discovered itself with new rules and people are repositing and reshaping their understanding about this phenomenon called NFT. NFT stands for a non fungible token – a fancy word that means a certificate of awnership and authenticity that someone owns the art work which can be a digital artwork but it can also be a photo of a physical artwork. So this certificate has financial value apparently and people are buying them and selling them. While the art itself can still be all over the internet. I recommend that you start following #nft hashtags on social media to learn more about the trends and watch the space.

Interesting, I still don’t really get the NFT deal. To me, seems like a scam to make the rich, richer. Minting comes at a cost and there is no guarantee that you’ll ever sell what you mint. At $70-$1000 to mint, your upfront cost is large!
Then the controversy in the “mining” footprint in energy consumption for the blockchain etc is apparently has a big impact on the environment. Plus there hidden cost such as “gas fees”. Nothing I’ll jump on anytime soon.
