The entire story of the creation of Mickey Mouse has confused here., Charles Mintz, the middle man between Disney and Universal took his creation of Oswald the rabbit and left him without a character. This lead to the creation of Mickey Mouse. The details of this have been glossed over. In all of the books on Walt Disney, I never read that he had considered any other story than SNOW WHITE for his first feature. Something like THE ILIAD was too complicated and sophisticated for Disney's tastes. And he definitely did NOT consider GULLIVER'S TRAVELS. You have that confused with Max Fleischer, whom Disney emulated and ended up surpassing in the field of animation.
I have to stop since this clearly looks like an unfinished work that needs a lot of refinement and critical editing to correct confused sections. And the delivery of the narration is unexciting. There are better documentaries on this subject that might be used as models to follow. It's too bad that 231,000 people have been given such badly arranged material. They deserve better.

Minus the hint of professional jealousy. This documentary on Walt Disney is a pretty good one. You never really know what someone is like until you learn about where they came from. We must remember because Walt Disney was a very successful man there is going to be a bit of jealous gossip going around. As for this Disney fan, I am grateful Walt Disney, and company came up with all the animated entertainment they did. Of all of the animation out there Disney is the gold standard. The one everybody else measures their success by. In other words, there is Disney then there is everybody else.

So far I have never seen a documentary on Disney that states that he toured Europe and looked at various forms of entertainment and tourist sites there (he was looking for ideas). At least this one makes reference to Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany which is easily seen as the inspiration for the 'Cinderella Castle' in every Disney park. At least this documentary makes reference to the various stories (often not considered suitable for children in their original form) which Disney sanitized and adapted to make into children/family friendly entertainment (dumbed down, yes). Lots of things get modified in the telling for entertainment value, in 'The Sound of Music' movie, the Von Trapp family marches across the mountains to escape the Nazis, in reality they took a train but that just wasn't dramatic enough for a movie apparently. I am of the generation that looked forward to "Disney's Wonderful World of Color" (or whatever it was called at the time) on Sunday, and then Wednesday night. For one hour per week, Disney's world was my world. I have visited the California and Florida Disney parks with my kids, interesting, but personally I prefer reality to engineered 'entertainment'.
