Join me on a walking tour in Yerevan, the capital and largest city of Armenia, as I explore the festive decorations and atmosphere of the city before Christmas. Yerevan is one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities, with a history dating back to the 8th century BC. In this episode, titled “Christmas Countdown”, I start from Tigran Mets Avenue, a major thoroughfare named after the ancient Armenian king Tigranes the Great, and pass through some of the most iconic landmarks and attractions of the city, such as:
Republic Square, Nalbandyan Street, Aram Street, Abovyan Street, Northern Avenue, Teryan Street, Sayat Nova Avenue, France Square, Moscovyan Street, and Cascade, a giant stairway that offers a panoramic view of the city, and Mount Ararat, where you can see the statue of the architect Alexander Tamanyan and the Cafesjian Center for the Arts.
