U.S. Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah, a former Republican presidential candidate, penned an opinion piece titled “Tax the Rich, Like Me” in The New York Times last Friday. Romney argues that while Democrats traditionally “insist on higher taxes, and Republicans insist on lower spending … given the magnitude of our national debt as well as the proximity of the cliff, both are necessary.”
“What you’re saying at the end of your life is that you think you should pay a few hundred thousand more out of your multihundreds of millions of dollars in fortune. But young Mitt didn’t say that,” Victor Davis Hanson argues on Friday’s forthcoming episode of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words:”

The flood of refugees and migrants have come from countries with exploitative rulers. Lots of those countries,I suspect have their hands out for "Aid" but are never interested in fixing their systems,so folk just leave hoping for something better. Lacking education or any worldliness, they have little to offer any host nation. Oh,maybe their traffickers or facebook page told them which EU country has best welfare programs. I hear Denmark has finally enacted discouragement programs now.
There is "the Giving Pledge" but it's results seem to be a mixed bag. Also, don't these rags know that after 10 years of TDS we treat their news reports like it's opposite day.
Victor, you need to regularly inform your audience to open the window under the 3 dots and select the “do not recommend” function for every imposter video that comes across their feed🙏🏾💕🇺🇸
These people can see the tide turning?
Firmly out with the conservatism free market dream, in with the calcification of socialism.
Posture your desire to pay the socialists more tax, is just astute observation on part of the oligarch reading the room.
Keeping the political ‘family’ state employed with fat cheques is the new campaign money; lots of greedy state employed pigs to feed at the trough.
Thank you
Doesn't anyone get it? High tax rates don't hurt the rich, they've already made it. They keep you from becoming rich like them. It's a small club and you aren't in it.
No taxation without representation
The rich get richer. Its by not paying. They feel privileged.
A majority of people can't afford to eat. We're being taxed at every turn.
These lefty uber-wealthy lunatics think Government is god and should be the purveyor of charity for the causes they deem worthy.
Yet they call us cultist.
Please read the W4, the government must give you the option to write exempt. Because we the People are exempt. They do not however have to say who is exempt. You should already know you are exempt. Write exempt on the W4 and stop filing 1040 forms. The IRS then sends a CP59 notice and you respond with form 15103, check the box, not a us citizen, add a copy of your birth certificate. That is your proof of state citizenship. We the People are state citizens, not us citizens.
Right on!!!
If the US deports all the illegal immigrants in the country, WE WILL have plenty of affordable housing!!
Its not about the money it about the power it delivers and that is why they want more money = power
Liberals don't do logic. It's about suckering the general public into higher Taxes SEE CHICAGO 133% increase on working class ppls property tax. It was never meant to hit the rich.
I see wealthy I always ask, how are they wealthy 🤔
It is disgusting and disingenuous. Most people who win the lottery are broke within a few years and their lives are ruined. Want to throw you money away give it to the government. Want to destroy peoples lives give them something for nothing. The more you give the more they will need and the less they will appreciate it. The exact opposite of "from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs".
Excellent informative podcast
Tax more and more freebies to others. The rich always have options to offset taxes only the working class can dream of. You think any would pay the right amount of tax as the rest of us even if they pay personal tax at the right amount you think the company they own would.

The ny cigarette tax is an interesting microcosm to broader issues on tax. Less state revenue from said cig taxes at 40 to 60 percent than when cigs were 1/4 the price in the state for the same brand pack. People go to reservations or black markets for untaxed. But smoking isnt considerably down after the 6 percent or whatever initial drop
Where would the government get the money to donate billions to fraudulent schemes, run by criminals, if they didn't tax hardworking Americans? Just asking!
More taxes is not the solution. Less wasteful spending, less silly programs that throw money at fake problems, less government control and overreach.
Taxing a billionaire more will not put a single dime in the working class’ pockets. They’ll just hike prices or pay employees less to compensate. Most of billionaires money is in companies and assets anyway.
Marxsist billionaires are given special status and control. The government controls the slaves and owns the factories. The oligarchs make the deals and gets the profits by leasing the factories.
Whenever a wealthy person says tax more, that person has absolutely no integrity and they are lying to deceive the masses.
This also applies to Bernie Sanders.
Tom Styers wife is a piece of work. Runs the "Non-profit" side. Strictly "BIPOC" issues.
The US ran almost exclusively on tariffs until Democrats under Wilson passed the 16th Amendment in 1913. And, except for wartimes, we balanced our budget, until Obama.
Six minutes worth of sanity on the day of peace. Thanks, fellas.
Thanks Victor
DC insider trading, a mega-billionaire moving toward becoming the first trillionaire with 4 wives and twelve kids, while working poor, homelessness is rampant. Is the democratic republic of the United States a little too out of balance toward capitalism and greed?!
Why we still talking? Do you Victor think that one day the Demoncrats will wake up and say “we were all wrong Trump is a savior and MAGA his righteous little helpers….Praise Donald Trump”!!
Nobody is going to “see the light”, so then it becomes a game of who has so much power they can butfvk a the opposition?? Civil War is the only road this nation is destined to go down.
If they want to be taxed more just write a check. Put your money where your mouth is.
Congress needs to pass a federal "put your money where your mouth is" tax law that removes from the federal budget the countless unconstitutional programs and instead creates separate programs that are voluntarily paid by those who support them. Let's see how generous democrats really are(n't).
Warren Buffett, that radical socialist, America's greatest investor with a net worth of more than $100 billion, had this to say: "The wealthy are definitely undertaxed." I'll believe Warren over a pimp for the plutocrats who works at the reactionary Hoover Institute named Victor Davis Hanson. How's the balanced federal budget? Oh, it's projected to hit $2TRILLIon this fiscal year, with interest payments on the $38 TRILLION national debt costing taxpayers $268 million per HOUR. What does Victor have to say about the deficit? He says: "Don't tax the rich, my sponsors."
Victor please read and respond, I'm confused regarding the use of your image and voice in the many channels with your image driven by AI. Are you OK wthis? Are the views expressed there really yours? Are you involved with the content expressed? As I asked, please respond, this is Vexing. Thanks.
