Dive into the untold, complicated story of Toussaint Louverture, the man who rose from slavery to lead the only successful slave revolt in history, the Haitian Revolution.
This is more than a history lesson; it’s a deep dive into power, contradiction, and the price of freedom. Louverture was an illiterate former slave who became a brilliant military general and Governor-General-for-Life but the story doesn’t end there. Discover the dark controversy surrounding his later years—the secret of the slaves he owned, the brutal military discipline he enforced, and the political maneuvers that ultimately led to his downfall by Napoleon Bonaparte.
If you’ve heard the name, but don’t know the full, shocking truth, you need to see this. Was he a hero, a tyrant, or a necessary evil? Watch now and decide for yourself.

The saga of Toussaint Louverture shows the mutual exclusive positions of Radical Revolutionary aspirations and the need for a Stable Government to meet the economic underpins required for long term sovereignty.
The former enslaved becomes a leader of a state, while needing the enslaved masses to do what APPEARS TO THEM as “continuing slave labor” , making him the target of both The Slave and The Colonizing Imperialists
Neither Slave nor Colonizer could see each other in the New Light that was necessary to move forward
Unfortunately- humans require “blood” for such a transformation in vision to take place
"Infamously, Dessalines ordered the mass slaughter of up to 7000 predominantly white French Colonists a genocidal act which many consider to be even more egregious than the slave trade itself" … I believe that's when your edibles entered the chat
Please do Haiti’s dictator Papa Doc! This brings me such pride 🇭🇹🇭🇹
Louverture never advocated the Haitian Revolution. When he had a committee of former slave owners write his 1801 constitution, it identified the island as a French territory free of slavery forever. It is more accurate to say he was the foremost defender of the cause of freedom for all. Haiti became a necessity because the French were willing to commit genocide to maintain slavery.
In case anybody doubts me, I'll let general Leclerc state what he and his boss, Napoleon, intended. "2 October 1802
Leclerc realizes that in order to accomplish his goals it will be necessary to completely restart the colony, eliminating the rebels and importing new slaves to run the plantations. He writes to Bonaparte:
“[For] if my position has turned from good to critical, it is not just because of the yellow fever [which he along with his troops contracted], but, as well, the premature reestablishment of slavery in Guadeloupe and the newspapers and letters from France that speak of nothing but slavery. Here is my opinion on this country: We must destroy all the blacks in the mountains – men and women – and spare only the children under 12 years of age. We must destroy half of those in the plains and must not leave a single colored person in the colony who has worn an epaulette.” (Fick, p. 222)"

The Father of Ayiti 🇭🇹, for better or worse . The suffering and chaos my people has gone through is truly inconceivable at times 😢.
It is wild.
Who's truth
Kindly request Please video upload in hindi language ❤❤❤❤
HE IS MORE THAN “the slave who rebelled” stop trying to always limit us down to CHAINS
Cuz he said OH THESE CHAINS….not today
What a brave man.
I was a History major who only learned about this story in an ART exhibit that portrayed this revolution. I immediately wanted to know more. I had heard vaguely about "slave uprisings" in the Caribbean affecting laws in the Southern US, but that was IT! This story is so remarkable and influential, I really hope it is taught now.
I have read many books about Toussaint.
👏💯 TFS
A natural-born soldier and statesman who succeeded, ultimately, in replacing slavery with serfdom. I'm not sure what to make of him.
And Haiti has been a third world shit hole ever since.
May have : Conjecture. And Nobody came from Africa‼️ That Lie has already been debunked‼️ For Real History follow: KURIMEO AHAU‼️
Do Malcolm X next since you have done one on Martin Luther King
Worked out really well…
A true revolutionary would drive out the colonists, but this wannabe revolutionary, worked hand in glove with them.
He was way in over his head against Napoleon, and as expected, paid the price.
Literally the worst nation in the Americas BY FAR!!!!
he sounds like Levski
Desalines had the right idea .

What a great people . Thank you Haiti 🇭🇹
There’s a book by Isabel Allende called Island Beneath The Sea on the subject of slavery in what’s now called Haiti. It really is worth a read for those who might be interested.
While Europe wrote about liberty, he lived it
Excellent video
Thanks a lot
