After the heavy silence at Chaeronea, Alexander saw his father celebrate coarsely and rebuked him. Sent to Athens, he entered with few attendants and found a frightened city. He walked through the Academy, the Theatre of Dionysus, and climbed the Acropolis, feeling the weight of the Greek heritage. Before the assembly, he offered mild terms: freedom preserved, prisoners returned, and an alliance for the campaign to come. The Athenians accepted, and the Lion of Chaeronea rose as mourning and warning. In Corinth, Philip gathered the cities under his command; Alexander, already famed for defeating the Sacred Band, won loyalties—and also envy. Greek unity was born at the same time as court intrigues.

This is so good. Cant wait for the next one.
Let me clarify some things because many people think Macedonians weren’t Greeks.
1) Not all Greeks fought against Macedonian Greeks in Battle of Chaeronea.
Thessalians and many northern Greeks: from Epirus, Perrhaebia, Dolopia, and parts of Phocis loyal to Philip , did fight with the Macedonian side in battle of Chaeronea.
Also Peloponnesian Greeks from cities like Argos, Messene and Arcadia fought with Macedonian side in battle of Chaeronia.
Sparta didnt fight with or against them.
2) For sure not all Greeks treated Macedonians as barbarians and non-Greeks. Mainly Demosthenes of Athens did and he did it for political reasons. When an educated hard patriot Athenian like Demosthenes calls Macedonians as barbarians he does that because he doesnt want his town to succumb to Macedonians. He tries to play the barbarian card because compared to an educated Greek Athenian , a rural less educated Greek Macedonian is a ''barbarian''. He doesn’t provide any sound and reasonable proof to why they are non-Greek.
3) Greek cities always fought each other , that doesnt make them non-Greek. Athens fought with Sparta and both allianced with Persians to obliterate each other.
4)) Macedonians and Alexander were Greeks , spoke Greek and considered themselves Greek.
Macedonians worshipped all the Greek gods. Their language was Greek and the archaeological findings found Greek language since 500 BC spoken by Macedonian people and the ruling class. For example the Athenian word : Φερενίκη is the equivalent for the Macedonian word : Βερενίκη. One letter changed (Β instead of Φ) but all the other letters were the same and all were from the Greek alphabet. B and Φ sound very close phonetically. They all had Greek names which all have etymological meaning in Greek language (Αλέξανδρος, Φίλιππος, i.e., Alexander and Philip). They participated in the Olympic Games, which were limited to Greeks. Their calendar was Greek and the name of the months were Greek. The feasts that they participated were Greek as well.
Macedonians, Athenians, Spartans— were Greek. Thracians weren’t Greek. Alexander the Great was Greek. Alexander was educated by the philosopher Aristotle in the Greek language, literature, philosophy, and science.
Prominent scholars who acknowledge his Greek identity include :
1)Peter Green (Alexander of Macedon, 356–323 B.C.), Robin Lane Fox (Alexander the Great),
2)Mary Renault
3)Ian Worthington (By the Spear: Philip II, Alexander the Great, and the Rise and Fall of the Macedonian Empire).
4)Paul Cartledge (Cambridge University) — He has stated very clearly that Alexander the Great was Greek, that the Macedonian royal house was Hellenic, etc.
5)N. G. L. Hammond (A History of Macedonia), He has been quoted as arguing that the Macedonians were Greeks, citing their names, calendar, ambassadors being able to appear without interpreters in the Athenian assembly, etc.
6)George L. Cawkwell — He has been quoted as arguing that the Macedonians were Greeks, citing their names, calendar, ambassadors being able to appear without interpreters in the Athenian assembly, etc.
The general consensus is that the Macedonians were considered Greeks both by themselves and by contemporary Greek city-states; Alexander practiced Greek religion, spoke Greek, spread Hellenistic culture, and was described by ancient sources such as Plutarch, Arrian, and Diodorus within a Greek cultural framework.
Did something happen with the previous voices used in the German synchro? The voices used previously were all more pleasant to listen to than the current one, which seems very sleepy.
❤🤍💙 all your video's mate👍.
Funny how Classic Greeks were so snobby and racist towards their own closest neighbors even the Macedonians weren't considered Greek until the Glory of Alexander outmatched their own, oh, sure, now Macedonia is part of Greece, sure.
Interesting

On the TV show Smallville, the character Lionel Luthor saw himself as a modern-day Philip II of Macedon to such an extent that named his first-born son after Philip's own son, Alexander the Great. It actually seems appropriate that Superman’s archenemy Lex Luthor was named after Alexander the Great.
After the battle.of Chironea, Alexander wept over for the death of all men of the sacred band of Thebe and Philip said to the Macedonians that anyone said something bad for them , he will take his head.
