The ceo of ripple spoke on this and said that rlusd will prioritize XRP to settle transactions on XRP ledger. Outside the ledger like on and off ramps rlusd will not use it but it will all any block chain to easy flow into the xrp ledger.

The Xrp token will be used to move cross border payments money around the world. The RLusd is a stable coin used for everyday transactions.
So with the launch of RLUSD there will be no use whatsoever for XRP. What's to stop RLUSD from becoming the Bridge Currency used by the Financial Institutions. XRP was suppose to be the bridge currency and On Demand Liquidity used by the Financial Institutions that are using XRapid. Ripple has been telling XRP investors this for years now and investors had the understanding that once mass adoption took place a value will need to be put on this on Demand Liquidity (XRP)?
