Richard iii is seen by some as a hero and a true king but he had his brother's marriage declared invalid and had his nephews murdered. In my book, he's a monster and a usurper. Nothing can change that.
Opps his family bloodline exsposed a women who got knocked up outside of her marriage….and kept it a secret, lol Can't trust anyone, lol
Brave man. Terrible uncle.
The Medieval English Wars of the Roses – House of York vs House of Lancaster, took place within the confines of the story of the Plantagenets, which is where The Game of Thrones fictitious series was derived, created from, minus the dragons, where the twists and plots, betrayers and loyalists, schemes and murders were real life.
King Richard III who was villified as the evil murderous hunchback deformed King by William Shakespeare, no doubt pressured by Tudor King Henry VII, whom King Richard III like most all those in his Plantagenet family line before him had both suspicion and sympathetic cause and motive for his actions, in his case taking the crown from his dead brother King Edward IV wife's scheming manipulative Woodville family, blamed for the mysterious disappearance of his 2 young nephews – heirs to the throne in the tower, eventually betrayed, defeated, died on the battlefield was the final player in the act of the wars of the roses.
I cannot stand the narrators voice. It turns me off and I wish the channel would quit using him. Creepy
I was fortunate to work with someone called Dr P Stone . Phil had this niche interest in Richard the third . Indeed he became chairman of the Richard 3 society . So I was well versed in the history of Richard 3:long before his skeleton was found in Leicester . RIP Dr Stone – I am sure that he would have been happy with this telling . I find these presentations most excellent. Thank you .
I’ve always pondered just how common was a women who’s first husband lead the Lancastrian cavalry? She was a low ranking noble 🫅 when York take over. For obvious reasons not high ranking anymore till she marries Edward.
The tragedy of Richard III isn’t just his death — it’s that a 30-second stage villain erased a lifetime of loyalty, governance, and battlefield courage. Maybe the Tudors didn’t just win the crown… they won the narrative.
Richard was a tyrant,he knew what he was doing when he stole and killed his nephews and trying to make his brothers marriage invalid
He died at 32 but your pic is of an old elderly man in his 60s or 70s with dyed black hair lol
Didn't his great-nephew Edmund chop his head off after the slimey one woke up late and missed the battle?
43:25 "Leaving Margaret widowed and pregnant at the tender age of 13."
For Real?! Who the hell knocks up a 13 yr old girl!! What happened to waiting for them to come of age?!
The two children of George, Duke of Clarence, Margaret and Edward, are the proof that Richard wasn’t as bad or evil and Henry Tudor (Henry VII) wasn’t as good as it seems to be in Shakespeare’s play.
Richard treated Clarence’s two children well.
Henry VII locked up Edward in the Tower of London like his two first cousins and executed him after 14 years of imprisonment.
Margaret was brutally executed by Henry VIII, Henry VII’s son.
Superior documentary. Seeks to remain objective. Doesnt dodge uncomfortable facts. Except perhaps regarding More's role.
Surely the household of the Tower must have known the truth. So why, after Richard no longer posed any threat, did noone question them about the Princes? Seems the automatic thing to do?
I think that is sad that King Richard 3rd was made to be a villian. We may never what kind of person King Richard 3rd really was or whether he did infect kill the twin prince so he could asend to throne of England. I suspect that King Richard 3rd was probably a floor character just like the rest of us.
Slight mistake @17:14 saying Edward VI he would come along till after Henry VIII 😂
This is another one of those videos that isn't narrated by an actual narrator, but by one of those text to speech programs.
All reading this should know that Philippa Langley was the one who had the dream, the idea, and then carried it out, and found the body of King Richard III. Without her drive and
unflagging energy this story would never have had this ending. Philippa Langley should be given all the honor and respect which she so rightly deserves. She was in the first trench, on the first day, and within the first four hours she found the leg bones of King Richard III. Thank you Philippa Langley because you were the one who found the king. Doctor George Whitehead
Amazing.

The idea Richard was a benevolent king is nonsense. Like all kings of the era, he enacted laws beneficial to his subjects in return for taxes to pay for war. The better his laws, the stronger his armies became. Therefore, any laws, regardless how splendid, were from selfish motives.
Fabulous! They have looked for Richard a long time.
Go backin history youwill find many kingwere killedby some one to usurpthe crown .bolingbroke starved richardii to death.edwardii suffered a terrible death his screams could be heard for ages.henry i rodepost haste to London aftermaking sure William rufuswas dead. More kings died by fowl means rather than fare.richardiii wasa fare manloved by many.he was probably morehonourable than either of his brothers ido not see him killing his nephew but rather getting them safe
So we think richard the third was the only king who may have killed family to ensure the power of throne was his. No…King John murdeted is teenage nephew Arthur of Brittany who had a better claim to the throne. He imprisoned his neice Elenor of Brittany
The people who killed Richard III had so little regard for him that they buried him in a car park! 😮
GREAT !!!!!
What a gormless fool Henry vi looks in his portrait!
Richard, was a good man, King ,and a catholic person…l love him…
What a position, to do ….or be attacked in the rear by Lord Percy!!
Some historians think Perkin Warbeck might have been Edward V.
Richard saw a chance to end all conflict once and for all. He charged at Henry Tudor. With a broken lace, Richard unhorsed the 6 ft. 8 inch behemoth, Sir John The Baron Cheney, and slew Henry's standard bearer Sir William Brandon. Richard came within yards of killing Henry, when the Stanleys, Richard's "allies," slammed into his rear…Richard died on foot surrounded… but fought manfully on until the last.
Usually people who argue against Richard having killed the two princes then argue that it was (or might have been) someone else. Thanks for not assuming they were murdered at all (or even dead). The only evidence I'm aware of for their death are rumors. They were seen playing in the Tower. After some time they were not seen in the Tower.
