Duduk by @AliFarbodnia, vocals and arrangement by Farya Faraji. This is a song by the renowned Sayat Nova, one of the great musicians of Armenian culture. The style of Sayat Nova represents a courtly form of Maqam music that is very representative of the East Armenian styles of music, characterised more by triple metres, similarities to Iranian and Azerbaijani music, and prominent usage of instruments like the tar, used here. Also used is the duduk, the national instrument of Armenians originating in the Armenian Highlands and the Caucasus.

Thank you Farya! I just red your recent post about certain people commenting negatively when you post music coming from a culture or ethnic group that they have a feud with.
I’m sorry you have to deal with garbage like that. I personally apologize for every Armenian who has commented negatively on your Turkish songs and videos. It only shows extremely narrow state of mind, insecurity and lack of intellect. And ironically for them, rather defeatist mentality. It is these people who are usually the first to abandon and ignore their own traditions. I hope you know these are just a few bad apples.
Your content, both performance and theoretical – is of superior quality, please take it from a fellow musician my friend. And I can’t emphasize enough my respect for Iranian civilization – I don’t call it “culture” because it’s more than a culture – as well as the way Armenians, being ethnically close but different in religion, have been treated in Iran. I haven’t met a single Iranian Armenian who had a single complaint.
Ironically, your content very often and very favorably highlights Armenian music – in fact, flatteringly more often than one would expect so I don’t understand the state of the mind of someone shaming you for posting a Turkish song.
Same goes for others – Russians, Ukrainians, etc. but I’ll let them apologize for their people 😊
