If the book of Revelations is correct- the government will have total control of its citizens and you will have no choice but to comply or be out of the system. There’s no way they will allow you to have a currency that they do not control. Not metals not Bitcoin. It will be total control. To be out of the system you will have to have communes of like minded people who work together without a currency involved. The book Great Reset describes this. Learn self sufficiency and gardening.

Taxation is not confiscation if it is prudently spent to provide needed and wanted services to the public. Rationale taxation is a critical part of a functioning goverrnment that operates for the benefit of the populace.
Chavez nationalized Venezuelan gold and he repatriated the gold held abroad by institutions, not the public. Venezuelan public has no gold, they have had no gold, they have been poor since the 80's when Carlos Andres Perez ran the country to suit the rich, the foreigners and their government. She may be thinking of Roosevelt declaring it illegal to have gold and after it was mostly all donated, he devalued the dollar. Talk about ripping off the people; the only ones who did not comply were the mafiosi and a few savvy hill-billies who buried their gold where they had the stills!!

Lynette is always worried about confiscation. Although its a concern her position is to buy expensive collectors coins. Gold has a very low melt weight. For $300 you can buy a forge and melt the gold down into 1oz bullion bracelet jewelry. I don't think jewelry has ever been outlawed.
