Interesting.
Greeks had similar sworf named Kopis and Iberians had Falcatta. Neoalese Kukri also looks like evolved Kopesh and was possibly introduced with Alexanders conquest.
it was too cool looking and they just werent ready for it yet
I would assume the Kopesh design was discontinued because the oddly curved blade made carrying it somewhat awkward. Straighter blades, aside from being better balanced and thus quicker, could more easily be fitted into and drawn from a sheath.
Bronze got very expensive during the bronze age collapse
Not entirely accurate about the sharpness vs iron. I saw a test where they made a short sword out of copper and one out of iron, both heat treated to a level appropriate to swords. They held an edge similarly, but the iron blade could flex whereas the bronze blade snapped with any side pressure.
The saber also has the cutting edge on the outside of the curve. You mean unlike a scythe.
@Skallagrim What do you make of this?
❤🤍💙 all your video's mate👍.
The Khopesh!!.
I'll tell you why it's called the Second Amendment 😂😂😂😂.
A difficult sword to sheath.😅
That look similar to the sword of darkness that the Green Ranger from Power Rangers used when he was evil lol
Beautiful artwork by the Egyptians.
I wonder what a iron one would have been like?
good vid
I bet the blacksmith was like, 'Hmm, a sword… but make it look like a highly aggressive question mark.' Done.
The symbol and weapon of the old world
