Sounds like a Russian mouthpiece
These paid dogs want Armenians' blood to be shed and their children to die.
The wars you want are over.
The region wants peace, it wants trade.
We don't need intelligence dogs like you.
Always peace.
Jeffrey is not taking into account there are more western Armenians than Hayastansis and their voice and help for Armenia. This was a disaster interview.
Actually 60% of Armenia’s economy is tied to Russia. That is being diversified now. That is common knowledge. It will no longer be this way.
Jeffery is not thinking like a Christian either. Western Christians have a moral obligation to help Armenia. This is a biblical mandate. Christians are one body. And if one part suffers we all suffer with it. His fundamental mistake is that Jeffery has no wisdom, except worldly wisdom. It skews his view towards a spirit of fear. He ignores the most important, the spiritual component.
Diplomacy with the countries he mentioned is ridiculous. Really he does not understand what is going on here.
There are concessions because we have no cards to play with. The next step is Azerbaijani and Turkish soldiers’ invasion of Armenia. This deal gives us time.
There is no mention to the right of return. Because they cannot do this yet. Man.
So Jeffery probably an educated guy in his field. Is not in this one.
Armenia is NOT giving up sovereign territory. Another error here.
He completely does not understand what Armenia needs, and this is not about America.
He does not understand the issues here. That was evident in the first 3 minutes.
First error on Jeffery’s part is that this is NOT meddling with Russia’s borders. This is an Armenian border, and sovereign land of Armenia, not Russia.
I am listening and will comment along the way. I own 4 properties on TRIPP and have been working there since 2019.
Like your introduction!
The most schizophrenic person i have meet in my live is Mr Sachs. On the one side he is pleading for international law and order based on that law. He is acussing Usa for destruction of that law and order. On the other side he is refusing independent states right to define their future and decide on which other state and organisations they want to build its future with. He is saying that all states have to take into consideration Russians interests. What kind of order are you asking for Mr.Sachs? Or you have an agenda what you are working for and in that case dont pretend to be an independent and inpartial observer and analyst.
We need a benevolent global authority, so that no one Power becomes Changis khan of our time.. before we blow up our planet
As an Armenian by Choice and living here in Armenia for over nine years now, I remain optimistic of Armenia's future, provided we don't blunder on the way. Jeff Sachs has touched two issues in particular that is paramount for any success, namely: (1) the 3+3 approach for any long term peace and sustainable development in the region and (2) the importance of both the North-South and East-West corridor especially for a land-locked country like Armenia. I remain hopeful that these will (despite the optics in White House recently between Armenia and Azerbaijan) be in the forefront for any long-term peace effort.
I guess both Armenians not living in Armenia in fact )
Imagine if Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia formed an simple economic union with free trade and movement of people. They are the centre of the world trade. The huge diaspora in Canada, EU, Russia, US, Türkiye, Iran and Australia gives them enormous soft power. A calm Caucus would have a huge influx or tourist and investment. After 10 years people would forget their differences and focus on their common cultures.
Thx for a great discussion.
Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
Descobri hoje , gostei muito
Groong, thanks for raising important questions with Pr. Sachs.
Armenia was usefull until Ottomans were dismembered. After freeing Gaza strip from them (ottos), west (mainly zionists) did not care about anything else. Since Armenia is failed state with such a small population, they won't be able to achieve anything realistically ever again. Other than hypocritical diaspora in US and Europe, locals dont give a flying f about regional power games.
👍👍👍👍👍👍🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You contradict to yourself. What iran did to azeris when they helped israel during those 12 days of war. Why should Armenia now consider Iran's interests vs it's own.
Thank you Hovig & Asbed for enviting Professor Jeffrey Sachs, we are grateful for preparing and inviting guests who are very much related now to what’s going on in Armenia, What a great show🇦🇲✝️🙏🏻❤️👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻💐
i am a turkish american and my best friend is a turkish armenian living in istanbul. and please stop hating each other and fighting. there are horrible things going on in the region and the world and the only people who can help us is us, not people or countries from miles away!
Was für eine schlechte Übersetzung und schwache Schprachmittlung… Die Namen sind alle falsch: einer, der sich mit der Region auskennt kappiert sofort die ganzen Fehlern…
Such a bad translation and weak language mediation… The names are all falce: one who knows the region can immediately find the whole mistakes…
It is the right time for Türkiye Azerbaijan and Armenia to cooperate and break free from the hegemony of imperialist powers
It's true that one can't take taco seriously and the complexity of the brutal neighbors. But I Israel, Japan, or even Taiwan are quite far from the US and they are protected from the US. Russia betrayed Armenia and rely on corrupt Turkey and Az isn't very reassuring.
Pashinyan is a hopeless fool and a ruler of the end, whilst the idea of the "corridor" is truly horrendous. But so is the myth that Russia, Iran or Turkey (along its so called Azerbaijan) can be negotiated with or relied on. We have been there many times and none worked. Like many Westerners, the man doesn't really grasp the depth of the levels of cynicism and depravity with those parties. If Westerners did, they would not let Ukraine fight it all alone or their own countries be invaded by the illegals that Erdogan+Putin duo is sending their way.
Hmmmm. may be right on some points, but WRONG on most. Armenia by definition cannot mean nothing top the US or anyone else for that matter, because it is right next to the US and Israel's enemy Iran, is the only thing that keeps Turks from Turan and is also controlled by Russia. Anyone with half a wit would know that, so the man is simply conning you. And finally, Russia and Turkey are not rivals or competitors – enough of that stupid cliché indeed. We should know it better from 2020 and from they have done to Syria after Assad entrusted it to them.
Great discussion. I am glad this popped up on my YouTube
There is no 99 year lease. You need to stop spreading misleading information, and please, stop using Zangezur Coridor name. There is no area called Zangezur, therefore cannot be area called Zangezur Coridor. Don’t help Azerbaijan to call Armenian area called Siuniq with their azeri name. Just call it Siuniq Coridor or TRIPP
There is a lot of consensus in the academic community that Jeffrey Sachs is perhaps the most influential public intellectual still alive. This performance, however, is a set of generalities that focus most of their arguments on attacking the US, assuming the worst about any practical actions actually happening, and no proposals with any degree of detail concerning how Armenia should be dealing with the extremely complicated set of challenges that it is faced with.
A prudent perspective from the professor.
