Hi, Lynette! I certainly recognized a kindred spirit in you. I'm 74 years old and have a half acre lot in the middle of a pine forest, mostly part sun to shade. I have projects half finished all over. My intention is to grow everything for all the animals to share. Frog pond, berry patches, small fruit trees, pollinator friendly, hummingbird plants, clover, sunflowers…

Happy 4th of July, Lynette! I do let many things go to seed. The finches love the coneflower seeds, and several people come every year to my garden for starter plants. I give away many kinds of flowered like you do. I think we just do what works for us.
The plant you aren't sure about looks like Goldenrod.

Maybe Echinacea purpurea ‘Parrot’.
I let my Denim 'n Lace' – Russian Sage – Perovskia atriplicifolia go to seed and then shook them on the ground when I cut them down last year. I am now potting up Russian Sage like crazy before it gets too big. Next time I do this I will do it in a pot. LOL I'm in Ontario, Canada zone 5.

I kind of lost interest in daylilies when we moved here 5 years ago but have put a few Stella D'oro in and am enjoying them…..I may have to revisit putting more in!
