Despite economic growth, around 550,000 people in Armenia still face food insecurity. The country is also grappling with agricultural challenges, including water shortages and the mounting effects of climate change. With biodiversity protection at the center of COP17 in Yerevan, how can Armenia’s farmers adapt and help build a more sustainable food system?
Kaveh Zahedi, Assistant Director-General of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization and Director of its Office of Climate Change, Biodiversity and Environment, joins CivilNet to discuss the pressures on Armenian agriculture, the impact of climate change, and possible solutions to food insecurity.
