The Conference of the “Caucasus Traditional Building Revival” is a pioneering initiative aimed at promoting and preserving traditional architecture in the South Caucasus. It brings together experts, practitioners, and scholars engaged in exploring traditional and sustainable architecture rooted in the building traditions of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.
The conference served as a snapshot of ongoing research and practices in the South Caucasian region, building strategies and techniques (addressing exploration of traditional methods using sustainable materials like clay, wood, and local stone), theoretical and practical dimensions (investigating the principles underpinning traditional architecture and their practical applications in contemporary contexts), social and cultural aspects (understanding the role of traditional building in shaping communal identities and fostering cultural continuity) and methodological innovations (sharing new approaches and tools for studying and applying traditional architectural practices) throughout the archaeological and historical periods.
