Several Diaspora Armenians are taking part in the opposition rallies organized by the Resistance Movement in Yerevan.
The Armenian Report spoke to a couple of protesters from the Diaspora in the capital’s France Square.
In a conversation with us, Canadian-Armenian Hratch Jabrayan said that the Diaspora has always been the foundation of Armenia and Artsakh. But unfortunately the current government authorities have severed the connection with the Diaspora and now the Diaspora is also participating in the rallies to restore that connection.
“We must restore ties, involve the Diaspora in the daily life of Armenia and Artsakh. We will continue to receive support from the Diaspora, which is only for the benefit of our Homeland,” Jabrayan said, adding that he appreciates the protests organized in the Diaspora. The international community should get acquainted with the processes taking place around Armenia and Artsakh.
Sepouh Abrahamian, who came to Yerevan from the Netherlands, to show the public after the national catastrophe that the Diaspora is ready to go the same route with Armenia and the Homeland.
“The homeland has changed, the Diaspora will change, if at this moment everyone does not realize that we will win the right to exist here, if we do not stand by Armenia and Artsakh, everything becomes meaningless,” explained Abrahamian.
Diaspora Armenian Manuel Khachatryan told us he went to Armenia in 2017, then moved to Artsakh.
“We lost our lands because of Nikol. With our struggle, we show that we must bring back our lands. We must expel Nikol and his family from Armenia,” he said.
