Emmy Award-winning anchor Araksya Karapetyan emceed the 16th annual Children of Armenia Fund Gala in NYC. In her opening remarks, Araksya spoke of being born in Gyumri during the Spitak Earthquake of 1988 and emigrating to the US shortly after. Our future SMART Citizens and guests of the COAF SMART Center enjoyed SMARTConnects with The Beacons Project. They truly brought light to the SMART performing folk music with Armenian musical instruments and recreating some of Komitas’ most memorable pieces.
