Armenian folk song “Gini lits” (Pour the wine) performs Sahak Sahakian. The song is about Soghomon Tehlerian, who shooted Talaat pasha, one of the main organizers of Armenian Genocide, in Berlin in March 15, 1921. In the German court Soghomon says: “I have killed a man, but I’m not a murderer”. In favor of Soghomon spoke German Orientalist and humanist Johannes Lepsius with a special interest in trying to prevent the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
