ARMENIA TRAVEL WITH KBS: GARNI TEMPLE (IN KOREAN)
The trip to this fascinating site is not to be missed! The Temple of Garni is a reconstructed classical Hellenistic temple near Garni, in the Kotayk Province of Armenia. It is the oldest surviving building on the territory of Armenia and former USSR. The Garni Temple was built by the Armenian King Tiridates with the money he received after visiting Emperor Nero in Rome, and was dedicated to Sun God Mithra.
The temple overlooks the wonderful canyon shaped by the ever-flowing Goght River. The Goght River carves through this beautiful, eye-catching gorge, referred to as Garni Gorge, and admired for its well preserved vertical basalt columns. The breathtaking orderly octagonal columns look almost like an organ, that is why they are called “Symphony of the Stones”.
