I’m a professional tutor of 6 years. While it can be true, I do see the benefit of students listening to someone they trust and admire as kids sometimes don’t listen to their parents but other adults. All the students I knew who improved had educated parents with time or tutors. But I think the industry can be a money hole for some, and the people hired is questionable at times. Sometimes the pricing for many is a race to the bottom with people charging $30 an hour, but I take my job very seriously as a qualified teacher.
As a tutor, absolutely yes. We do try to teach kids to be independent, but but it often leads to kids thinking "oh so now I don't have to do anything at home anymore" and it's hard to change that mindset as someone paid to help them study in that hour….
Is justin sung overrated?
I work as a tutor and i agree with this. I often get students who end up relying on me to learn things in their courses. It's bad because on one hand I want to give them what they came to me for and on the other i know it's partially hrunting them in the long run.
Please make a video on: if you had to study a chapter thoroughly how would you go about it each step you would do and the reason why you would do it
