So called historians always seem to glaze over the facts when criticizing the United States for slavery. In 1776, approximately 18% held slaves. In 1860, 1.6% held slaves (at it's height during the Civil War). That was abolished in 1865. So everyone can get over this now.
At 30:39, it says Thomas Jefferson was president from 1808 to 1809. He served from 1801 to 1809. He was the first president to serve a full eight years since Washington didn't take office until April 30th, 57 days after March 4th. They both left office on March 4th. Jefferson started his term on March 4th.

Was the founding of the USA the biggest mistake ever 😮
He was a hero that ended kingship that led to the abolition of slavery.
This suggests that it’s naive to believe slavery was going to die out but there is a lot of evidence that it would have. First and foremost, he’s right it’s not economical especially as technology progressed.

I know the man was human and not perfect but out of all presidents. I feel like he was the most honest and did most of any president. I wish we could have another one of these men. Trump would have to go hide.
I think Washington would’ve been very pleased with how America has significantly grown & matured from a British continental nation just 20 years old & too weak for war, to the global military, economic, & technological superpower of the world in less than 300 years.
But he also would’ve been very disappointed in just how politically extreme or radical we’ve become, & all over the world in conflicts too.
Some of Washington’s biggest downfalls militarily, such as listening too much to others, patience, and waiting on more intelligence reports, became his biggest strength as our President.
