India’s big cities are famous for their lively hustle and bustle. A documentary exploring beauty, justice, health and beer in India’s capital territory, Delhi.
Delhi has a population of almost twenty million, and to film-maker Markus Spieker it sometimes seems as if Delhi has twice as many stories to tell: stories ranging from the traditional to the modern, from happiness to misery. He takes the viewer into the heart of the Old Town and into the modern Cyberhub, into malodorous canteens and exclusive restaurants.
India is a country with incredible stories and huge contrasts. Metropolises like Delhi are growing at a tremendous rate. No matter how well you know the area, there is always something new to discover. As well as street cafés and exclusive restaurants, this documentary visits India’s biggest hospital and the practices of plastic surgeons, the “Kingdom of Dreams” and gloomy ghettos. We meet star chefs and street cooks who compete to see who can bake the best pita bread. We encounter cult dancers, hard rock fans of a different kind, and the world record holder in holding world records. This is a documentary film for those who like to marvel, smile, and enjoy.

İ am looking forward to meet my woman Computer or electronical engineer with best grades İndian to introduce and marry, then immigrate together to Australia or Florida to have our children.
Incredible is the amount of garbage they throw into water.
They need to protest having their Waters clean. Disgusting

Why don't they do their poetry in their indian languages? Or is English official language?
No word to describe it ,,, it is just great
What a dump
Most unfortunate thing on the planet, The rich get richer and poor get poorer. Unequal distribution
India is clean and green I enjoyed a month there ( 2023 ) brilliant 😅
The Dutch Villa channel is a malicious and hypocritical channel. It conveys the bright side of India and does not convey what is happening to other ethnic minorities in terms of daily oppression, torture and discrimination at the hands of fanatical Hindus, the demolition of the historic Babri Mosque and the establishment of a cow temple on it, the demolition of Christian churches, the forceful displacement of millions of Muslims, the systematic demolition of their homes under the pretext of developing cities, and the imprisonment and torture of innocent people under the pretext of fighting terrorism.
One of the criminal gangs in India was arrested for stealing the money of tourists and foreigners in India by stealing their banking information. The unfortunate thing is that they robbed people outside India's borders of billions of dollars. This is Modi's country, which destroys Muslim mosques and Christian churches and demolishes people's homes, especially Muslims, just as Israel does to the defenseless people of Gaza. India does the same, but the media is absent, like the hypocritical flags of Europe.
There is balance to this documentary yet all of the people in the slums filmed appeared healthy and well fed so it is hard to understand what issues are being brought to light by filming there.
Mr Rana das you said Delhi was 15 hundred years old that too maybe,
Your knowledge is laughable in ancient Mahabharat it was known as Indraprastha
Interesting, it’s eyes opening, the poetry clubs were speaking in English instead of Hindu and they speaking really fast. Now i know Chinese looks alike is Tibetans. Thank you DW.
I hope it is better for the people in the slum now. I am sure the government could find a way to at least provide water, sewer and electricity. And criminals stealing from people who have nothing

JNU's environment and students reminds me of UP (University of the Philippines). It is also a hotbed of student activism
Americans
Jyotsana in JNU was our right wing buddy 🙂

The faith of the victims spread everywhere.
A slight correction: During the British colonial rule, Delhi was not the capital. Calcutta (present day Kolkata) was. Later on when violent protests began rising in Calcutta, the Brits were forced to leave and they established Delhi as their new capital. Soon after, they left India and Delhi continued to be the capital of independant India.
Nice documentary

Everyday we give blessings, yes the USA has its issues, many of them actually, but in comparison to several other countries WE ARE LIVING IN PARADISE.
How difficult is it to clean the river? Get localized inspectors… every half a mile on both sides. Let them sanction the hell out of all offenders. Prevent bribes and corruption with solid oversight. Come on. A high school kid can solve this.
caste system still is alive as it has always been. only vultures can be proud of this.
Indians are shockingly good-looking. Those actors were another level of beauty.
Class! Super!!
