For this side hustle review it gives you an honest overview what to expect mining bitcoin on your laptop. I had an extra. gaming laptop sitting around, so instead of collecting dust, I wanted to see if I could earn money from mining Bitcoin with it. Seems pretty simple to start mining and start making some easy money. The first step was to download the mining software and then click mine! I used NiceHash Miner to mine the crypto currencies. It was simple to install and get started. Note, you have to turn off window’s protection/melware in order to run the mining software.

In 6 hours we mined a total of 2 cents worth of bitcoin ($BTC), which means in 24 hours we mine a total of 8 cents of bitcoin.

In total mining on your laptop doesn’t seem worth it and you probably loses money, once you take into account electricity and depreciating the laptop. Plus, mining really pushes the laptop to its limit. It’s super hot and the fans have been going crazy for the last couple of hours.
