Fresno State hosts Super Saturday: Black College and Career Summit
Fresno State’s fifth annual Super Saturday is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Satellite Student Union.
Organized by the university’s Black Student Success Initiative, Super Saturday aims to provide support for K-12 students with college readiness and retention resources, as well as help parents better understand how to support their children who are heading to college.
The event offers breakout sessions on topics such as A-G requirements and financial aid. Additionally, there will be a resource fair showcasing services available on campus and in the community.
The keynote speaker is Robert Golden, former NFL football player for the Pittsburgh Steelers and chief executive officer of Golder Charter Academy in Fresno.
Schedule of events:
- Opening remarks: 9 – 9:45 a.m.
- Keynote address: 11 a.m. – noon
- Community resource fair, African Drum Interactive, Red Wavettes: noon – 1:50 p.m.
- Workshops: 2 – 3:20 p.m.
- Closing remarks: 3:30 – 4 p.m.
