We categorize ourselves culturally as hard working, right?
So then why do we use that as an excuse to neglect ourselves instead of as the reason we should be better at taking care of ourselves?
We’re very good at carrying weight.
Work.
Family.
Bills.
Pressure.
Expectations.
Problems that need to get handled.
A lot of us almost wear exhaustion like it’s proof we’re doing enough.
But when it comes to our health, suddenly it’s:
“I’m too busy.”
“I don’t have time.”
“I’ll start when things calm down.”
Since when do we need ideal conditions to figure something out?
That’s not us.
We’re resourceful.
We’re obsessive when something matters.
We’ll rearrange our schedule, wake up earlier, stay later, make the call and find a solution.
So why does that version of us disappear when it comes to our own body?
The same work ethic you use to build your career, support your family and handle everything life throws at you can be used to build your health too.
You don’t need to become less busy.
You need a system that works while you’re busy.
3 hours of training per week.
Better food decisions and a nutritional plan.
More daily movement.
Actual recovery.
Knowing what’s going on with your bloodwork before something forces you to care.
Because hard work is powerful.
But hard work with zero self-preservation eventually turns into self-neglect.
And if you’ve worked this hard to build a life you’re proud of, your body should be strong enough to carry you through it.
If you know you’ve been giving your best energy to everyone and everything except yourself, stop waiting for life to slow down.
It won’t.
You already have the work ethic.
You already know how to commit.
You already know how to figure shit out.
Now apply some of that back to YOU.
