Now aging, Theseus tries to revive the past by marrying the young Phaedra, but the union brings tragedy to Athens. Driven by Aphrodite’s revenge, Phaedra falls obsessively in love with Hippolytus, the king’s son, who rejects her out of devotion to chastity and honor. Humiliated, she takes her own life, leaving a fake letter accusing the prince. Blinded by grief, Theseus curses his son, who dies in an accident caused by Poseidon. The truth comes too late, and the hero is left destroyed by remorse, defeated by his own mistake.

1:15 and that he abandonned on a rock in the middle of the sea. Such gratitude…
2:31 A vow of chastity ? Lol men weren't considered vigins XD In most versions, they were just not on the same board lol.
❤🤍💙 all your video's mate👍.
Good video. But their's more to the myth, the goddess, Artemis told Theseus the truth then asked Asclepius in her favor to bring Hippolytus back to life. With that, he was sent away to another place never to return to Athens and become a monk or a priest.
Hippolytus is aro/ace and is devoted to Artemis
Interesting and saddening
