im not buying that he sold everything. Why would a person with a 200 million dollar portfolio sell every. do you understand the tax consequences of doing this? You would owe at least 15% or more on all your profits to the IRS. That would be a tax bill of at least 30 millions, it would be easier just to wait through a 15-20% drawdown in the markets, which never happened of course. And since his sell call, the markets have gone up 30% so who knows how much money he lost from opportunity costs

Dr. Burry didn't become a Board Certified Neurologist overnight. It took him MANY YEARS OF HARD WORK. In addition he has put in his time to learn about finances, trading, investing, etc. I trust that Dr. Burry knows what he is doing, and I have sold off 20% of my stocks and placed it in cash. I also think that no matter what the market will bounce back in time. Life is a gamble, but if you don't take a swing, you will NEVER get a hit!!!

Geo Group is a dog. Trades at $8 a share. I could have come up with 10 recession proof stocks off the top of my head better than Geo Group.

Burry still owns GE0 according to his last 13f. They’re a prison system that own the ICE contracts but those will be expiring soon and doubtful to be renewed.

when the great depression hit, some sold everything at a loss and some jumped off the tops of buildings because they were leveraged out… the truly rich sat back and stayed in the game… they bought stocks on sale and sat and waited… the stocks came back bigger than ever… when stocks plummet, you buy, (on solid companies) because its a fire sale and its a bargain! You sell at a loss you lose… anyone rich selling now is waiting for the crash, then they buy… but you can lose on that also… if there is no big crash, you don't make the gains if you are out of the market… better to hold good stocks, ride out the drops and buy when you can on the drops… never sell on drops…

The GEO purchase he probably made because he knew that a bunch of ignorant investors would follow him and raise the value of his stock, which is up 16% since he bought it, and he's probably already sold it for a nice easy profit.
Burry on the money there are too many variables for the stock not to crash housing is crashing, inflation really at 13%, cheap money with zombie companies not to mention the 650 Trillion dollars in derivatives!! Goodnight Elvis has left the building🤔
