Day 76 & 77 of the overland journey and we are spending the Georgian New Year’s in Yerevan, Armenia 🇦🇲.
After a rough night’s sleep and waking up to snow, we head out for breakfast before moving into a new apartment, easily one of the biggest places we’ve stayed so far. From there, we explore parts of the city, walking through the Kond Tunnel, along the gorge, and up towards the Armenian Genocide Memorial.
A stray dog follows us most of the way, the streets feel strangely empty, and some of the abandoned buildings near the stadium genuinely feel like something out of I Am Legend. We also share a story about friends who had a very close call with wild dogs while travelling.
Later, we stock up at Yerevan City Market, cook dinner at home, and reflect on just how much we’ve loved Armenia so far.
The next morning starts with a −4°C run back through the gorge, some very confused looks from locals, breakfast back at the market, and a power cut that delays the day before we head to a climbing gym for some bouldering.
This is our final full day in Armenia. Tomorrow, we head back to Tbilisi and prepare for the next big step of the journey.
Thanks for watching and the Continued support!
