You're welcome
Finally something to listen to while I shovel the driveway
Hell yeah
I'm happy retrospectives are back
i might be a minority but i dont prefer the remake of 1 to the orginal or directors cut. i will give some points to why i think so and also what i do like in the remake. all subjective ofcourse.
Starting with why i dislike it
-crimson heads are more annoying than actually scary
-the new dialoge is now just bad instead of funny b-movie dialouge
-it has unnecassary additions and changes that stretch the game a bit.
-it forces the extra game mode with the explosive zombie into new game+ without the ability to turn it of after you reached your 4th palythorugh, so you can only do a new game without your unlockables to not have the instant death zombie running around.
-enemies feel less responsive to attacks
-shotgun headshots arent a guranteed decapitation anymore (cause they want crimson heads instead of letting us choose to sacrifice shotgun ammo for a headshot and instant kill like before)
-that is probably the most subjective reason but, it feels to clean? the ps1 version ahs a weird charme the remake lacks.
Pros:
-side characters get a bit more screen time and character
-graphics >.> duh
-lots of game modes (bessides the one thing i disliked mentioned)
Thats pretty much it. and like i said, its very subjective. But as someone who recently cause of hype for 9 replayed and 100%ed most RE games recently and that includes the originals, i noticed how i prefer 96 to remake.
Gingy, it would be cool if you did a collab with gamingharry. Thanks for the video.
The first sentence of this video sent a tingle down my spine.
You and gaming Harry have very similar taste in video ideas huh
Always look forward to a Gingy video 💪🏻
Dude what the heck, I literally just saw a vid about the viruses and decided to check if you'd made a resident evil video
What a pleasant sight
Incredible vid. I need a fallout retrospective next

i think you got your time lines mixed up. RE3 doesn't take place at the same time as RE2. it specifically takes place 24 hours before and at least 24 hours after the events of RE2.
RE2 takes place on sept 29, 1998. RE3 starts on sept 28. and jill doesn't wake up from her infection until oct 1. so by the time the game starts, claire and leon hadn't even gotten into the city and by the time it ends, they and sherry would've been long gone from the city before it got nuked.
I f-ing hate games that make you play through more than once to get the whole story. More often than not it reeks of unimaginative padding. Sometimes it's done well, but it's usually not and people clap like lobotomized seals over it anyway. For example, Nier Automata is an awful game just all around apart from the music and they make you replay the first half of the game before you can play the 2nd half just because they arbitrarily withhold information from you the first time when there's no reason the player character shouldn't be made aware of that info. It just pads the playtime and makes knuckle draggers go "Whoa. I learned a thing I didn't know before. That's such a crazy and new concept. Also, what is school?"
I might just be dumb, but how is the term Resident Evil a pun? What wordplay is going on? Resident Evil is no more a pun than if they just called the game "Yo there's zombies in there."
There was a Survivor 2? The first one was so bad lol
New Gingy just dropped lets fucking go
Re4 and onward was the point in the series where I still played them, but the spark was mostly gone.
