🇦🇲 FRESH LAVASH WALK TO KOND (Կոնդ) 🇦🇲 | Old Quarter Streets, Pulpulak & Kind Locals 🇦🇲 | SOLO TRAVEL ARMENIA (Հայաստան) FOR ARMENIANS ABROAD 🇦🇲
This one begins outside a traditional Armenian bakery in Yerevan (Երևան), the kind of place that makes only bread and lavash and nothing else. There is a local queue, quick chats, and that warm bakery smell hitting you before the first bite. I order my lavash, thank the lady behind the counter, and step back onto the street with it still hot, fluffy, and fresh in my hands.
I tear off a piece right away and it is unreal: soft inside, slightly smoky outside, and so hot it fogs the air for a second. I keep eating as I walk, because this is the kind of food that belongs on the street, not on a plate.
If you are Armenian abroad planning a trip to Armenia (Հայաստան), or searching for Armenian lavash, lavash bakery Yerevan, traditional Armenian bakery, Armenian bread, Yerevan walking tour, Kond (Կոնդ) neighborhood, oldest quarter in Yerevan, pulpulak (պուլպուլակ) fountain, Republic Square Yerevan, things to do in Yerevan, or Armenia travel vlog, this episode is for you. It is simple, emotional, and full of real Yerevan street life.
With the lavash still steaming, I start the walk toward Kond (Կոնդ), one of the oldest quarters of Yerevan. It is uphill and it is hard, but every step feels like you are moving into an older layer of the city. I keep asking locals where Kond is and every time they point me the right way, calm and friendly, like it is the most normal thing in the world.
Before I reach Kond, I stop by a small church with a bench outside and a traditional pulpulak (պուլպուլակ), that little water fountain you see across Armenia. Quick sip, quick breath, then back to the climb.
And then I finally arrive. I ask again just to be sure, and locals confirm: yes, this is Kond (Կոնդ). The vibe changes instantly. Antique houses, narrow paths, uneven steps, and colorful murals that make the walls feel alive. I wander through the lanes, then step into a tiny neighborhood shop that sells everything from cheese and snacks to water. I grab a bottle, chat for a second, and keep exploring.
When it is time to head back, I ask for directions to Republic Square (Հանրապետության հրապարակ), find the small stairs out of Kond, and suddenly I am back on the main road. I pass through central Yerevan again, walking by Yerevan Tavern, Republic Square, and the History Museum. One last supermarket stop, then I reach the hotel and end the day in my room, tired in the best way.
If you are Armenian living abroad, I hope this feels like a warm reminder. Bread, streets, kindness, old neighborhoods, and those small details that bring memories back fast. Thanks for walking with me.

I have to admit, this is one of my favorite episodes, because I love discovering that authentic, unique side of a city that you’d never find if you only stayed on the main streets. 🇦🇲✨
If you’re planning a trip to Armenia (Հայաստան) and searching for a real Yerevan (Երևան) walking tour, this episode is your sign. It starts with something simple but unforgettable: fresh Armenian lavash from a traditional lavash bakery in Yerevan, the kind of place locals line up for, where the bread is still steaming in your hands. I took the first bite right on the street, and instantly it felt like one of those travel moments that stays with you forever.
Then comes the mission: walking uphill to Kond (Կոնդ), one of the oldest quarters in Yerevan, asking locals for directions, following their calm kindness step by step, and watching the city slowly transform. A quick stop at a pulpulak (պուլպուլակ) water fountain near a small church, a breath, and then suddenly you’re inside Kond: narrow alleys, old houses, uneven steps, street murals, and that raw neighborhood energy that makes you feel like you discovered the “real” Yerevan beyond the main streets.
On the way back, we head toward Republic Square (Հանրապետության հրապարակ) and the History Museum area, ending the day tired in the best way, like you earned the city with your own feet.

Hello, nice videos about my country, thank you!❤
You don’t have to eat lavash on its own; you can enjoy it with butter, cheese, kabab, and different toppings 😊

Stay safe cause of this super flu. I caught it on the metro and it gave me viral pneumonia!
Actually I love watching Tour Vlogs from Armenia and I saw few vlogs from Kond made by tourists but anyways I wouldn't call Kond as a traditional Armenian place there's just nothing similar to Armenian Culture and architecture but its quite old and interesting to explore
let me do a small clarification so Kond is not a traditional place at all because you cant see there any traditional average Armenian architecture its just a small hub where poor peoples live and yeah it casually snows in Yerevan you can search and see how beautiful is snowy Yerevan
🖐🖐🇮🇹🇮🇹🇦🇲🇦🇲👍👍
also it brought me so much joy to see you bite into layers of lavash. you were right, that's not how it's eaten but it was very satisfying to watch 😍
those murals are for the fallen heroic soldiers that defended Armenia in 2020-2023 against Azerbaijans ethnic cleansing of Armenian historic lands. even the bench you sat down at in Kond with the cross might have been another memorial for a fallen soldier. God bless their souls and their families❤

Great video. Just a small cultural clarification from an Armenian, when you mentioned it might be a small church at 6:15 , it’s actually a memorial fountain, which is very common in Armenia and Artsakh. These are usually built by the family or the local community in memory of someone who died defending the country. They often include a cross, the person’s name and sometimes a portrait carved into stone. People stop to drink water, rest, and remember them. Drinking water is a symbolic way of honoring their life and keeping their memory alive.
Armenia 🇦🇲❤️🇮🇹 Italy
My Italian brother, thank you for visiting our country and for making these wonderful videos. Just a small and friendly note. When you want to say “yes” in Armenia, you can also say “ayo” (այո). Russian is understood, of course, but hearing the Armenian word always brings a smile. Enjoy your journey!
Excited to be your number one ☝️ viewer bro 😎 the closest I have been to Italy is my unhealthy obsession with the Sopranos but one day I will go. My bro said the food in Italy was best he had. 🇮🇹
