The music of Armenia has its origins in the Armenian Highlands, where people traditionally sang popular folk songs. Armenians have had a long tradition of folk music from the antiquity. Under Soviet leadership, Armenian folk music was taught in state-sponsored conservatoires. Instruments played include qamancha (similar to violin), kanun (dulcimer), dhol (double-headed hand drum), oud (lute), duduk, zurna, blul (ney), shvi and to a lesser degree saz. Other instruments are often used such as violin and clarinet. The duduk is Armenia’s national instrument.

Love many of the songs here; unfortunately, I do not know any of their names. May I know what are the names of the songs in this 1hr + collection? Would love to know them : )

Wow amazing music!
Damn my Algebra teacher is lucky she’s Armenian. I’ve heard her speak the language to another student in class. Kind of sounds gibberish and kind of reminds me of Norwegian and Dutch.
excelente. Me hizo llorar… un día volveré a mi querido país … 🙁

Simply beautiful!
Thanks for sharing!
I don't understand a single word but it is so beautiful. I know that the Armenian culture is very very ancient.Despite this, it is deeply contemplative… I'd love to know what they are singing about though. Pieces of this are absolutely Magick.
I don't know much about east Asia or Europe….but I like this album.😉😉😉

Batuhan (Batuhan) – Historians and archeologists have discovered that 4600historic sites in Turkey are Armenian; 4100 are Byzantian (Greek) sites, 600are Assyrian and some Jewish. I believe on 300 are Turkish. Pls. do not berude when you have no facts. The truth has come out and no matter what yousay many people now know that Turkish history was falsified.
Interesting, that this music has similarities with some ancient Hungarian folksongs in it's melody… 🙂
Our POWER !!! Thanks
Absolutely sacred music! Incredible beauty. Great talent. Spiritual brilliance.
Azerbaijani Goddes…Another worthless comment!!
Lol!! Muttt
Does anyone know which region this is from? Much of the old Armenian music I've heard is (naturally) very similar to that of surrounding peoples in Eastern Anatolia, but this is quite different; it sounds a bit more like music of Iran, where there are also lots of Armenians.
