The Messiah’s Triumph and Kingdom
Psalm 2:1-4 (NKJV)
1 Why do the nations rage,
And the people plot a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,
Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us break Their bonds in pieces
And cast away Their cords from us.”
4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision.
Wow! Did you notice verse three? This is man in rebellion to the voice of God. This is man rejecting God's authority to rule over him. It's the same thing Paul was talking about in this verse….
Romans 8:7 (NKJV)
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.
Friends, are you subject to the law of God? It's a terrible thing to have the Holy One of Israel laugh at you. It's even worse to have Him hold you in derision. For God to hold someone in derision means He views their rebellious, arrogant efforts to defy Him as laughable, weak, and futile, showing contempt and scorn, not genuine amusement, signifying His ultimate power and their inevitable failure. This is seen clearly in passages like Psalm 2:4, where He mocks those who plot against His divine rule. It's a divine dismissal of human pride, showing God's sovereign control over all opposing forces, even while He also shows compassion.
Revelation 21:3-4 (NKJV)
3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
The "former things" is a description of the old heaven and earth. And it is NOT the old covenant. It is the old serpent world/age. The tears, death, sorrow, crying, and pain were not brought into the world by Israel's first covenant. The "works of darkness" that Paul said to cast off were not the righteous requirements of the law. God did not come to steal, kill, and destroy. That was the works of the Devil.
On the contrary, Israel's first covenant relationship with God was the best thing that ever happened to them prior to the coming of Christ. And by extension, it was a blessing for the entire world. The tiny nation of Israel (and the seed of David) would not have been preserved for 1500 years without God's help. Israel's first covenant was an integral part of bringing us to Christ– of bringing in the Messianic Age!
We must not attribute the works of God to the works of the Devil. Or vise versa.
I would say the wedding celebration began with the arrival of the Romans and ended around 70 AD with the destruction of Jerusalem and the Second Temple. The Bride of Christ and the Bridegroom, Jesus, were united and married. Here's to the new heaven and the new earth in the perfected heavenly Jerusalem for eternity! Blessings
Kenneth Gentry states that he believes the New Heaven and the New Earth is fulfilled.
ThkQ brother Don amazing Mind-blowing truth folks right here
I plan to do my homework as Don suggested at the 15:35 minutes. Isaiah 56:1-8 is one of the most powerful passages in the old testament on this subject. It clearly teaches that people from "all nations" are invited to join themselves to the Lord and partake of Israel's good things. This is a prophecy about New Testament times.
I believe it's helpful to remember that Isaiah's prophecy was divided into chapters and verses by man. They are not Divine indicators of where a thought begins and ends.
I believe the last sentence of chapter 55 should be the first sentence of chapter 56. The concept of an everlasting name/sign "that shall not be cut off" forms an inclusio with 56:5 and underlies the entire section.
This entire text is rich with New Covenant language. God's salvation is about to come. God's righteousness is about to be revealed. We have "foreigners" included. We see the marriage language of "joining" oneself to Lord mentioned twice. We have "God's house" and walls. We have "His covenant" mentioned twice. We have an everlasting name that shall not be cut off. We have God's holy mountain. A house of prayer for "all nations" etc.
A beautiful picture of the New Creation!
Здравствуйте! Как-то слышал у вас на канале, что евреи свадьбу называли "не знаете ни дня ни часа". Я искал подтверждение этой информации, не нашёл. Могли бы вы предоставить ссылки откуда у вас эта информация?
At about minute 12, yes the testimony of Revelation, Galatians, and Hebrews is far to clear. You don't understand the scriptures because Revelation, Galatians, Hebrews, the letters Paul wrote are all very clear. The Law ended at the cross and as the letter to Colossae says, we are delivered into the Kingdom of His dear son. The Old Covenant Law of Moses came to an end at the cross, you cannot get around that fact without twisting the scriptures. Jesus said He came to fulfill the law not to destroy it. 2 Corinthians chapter 3 covers it as well as Hebrews and Galatians. As Paul said of the Jews after the New Covenant came " But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away." Notice Paul didn't tell them to turn to the Lord through the Law. No, they turn to the Lord through the New Covenant, which is the one Christ gave them and us. As Paul also said "But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ." The veil was torn, the veil lays on unbelieving Jews hearts because they refuse to turn to the Lord through His dear son. You hyper preterists lead people away from Christ. Just as the first of this video shows, you use Jewish tradition, the Talmud, and who knows what else besides scripture to build another fake doctrine out of Shemini Atzeret.
I’ve always taken your references to what the rabbis thought as establishing the cultural context of the subject being discussed. We can’t really understand audience relevance without knowing what the culture thought or believed at the time, and when we’re trying to understand the culture of second temple Judaism, we have to look at what the rabbis believed and taught. “Duh!”
In Christian theology, the Devil (Satan) is called the "father of lies" because lying is his fundamental nature; John 8:44 says, "When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it". This title signifies his role as the ultimate deceiver, originating falsehoods and twisting truth to mislead humanity, as seen in his temptation of Adam and Eve.
Matthew 15 is a powerful chapter. After Jesus upheld the commandments of God, He castigated the Pharisees for their traditions, such as their condemning people for eating with unwashed hands. Jesus explains the difference here….
Matthew 15:12-20 (NKJV)
12 Then His disciples came and said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”
13 But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. 14 Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”
15 Then Peter answered and said to Him, “Explain this parable to us.”
16 So Jesus said, “Are you also still without understanding? 17 Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. 20 These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”
Romans 13:12 (NKJV)
12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.
What are the works of darkness? Is Paul speaking of the good, holy, just, and spiritual law of God that he agreed with, delighted in, and served with his mind? (Romans 7:12-25). Is Paul speaking of the "righteous requirement of the law" mentioned in Romans 8:4? Is Paul speaking of the "law of God" that the carnal mind will not submit to in Romans 8:7? I don't think so.
I think the following statement by Paul is a better description of the works of darkness….
Galatians 5:19-21 (NKJV)
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
The New Covenant came into effect through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in the first century [Pentecost] and has been in force since the Last Supper, when Jesus said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood.” It replaces the Old Covenant by writing God’s law (the Torah) not on tablets of stone, but on the hearts of people. This leads to inner renewal and fulfillment and made possible the redemption and restoration of Israel.
Beginning: Introduction: Jesus proclaimed it at the Last Supper (Passover meal), shortly before his crucifixion.
Effectiveness: With his death on the cross (Golgotha), the covenant became effective and accessible. What is new? Law in the heart: God’s law is written on the hearts of believers, not just on tablets. Inner renewal: It promises a profound renewal of hearts so that people will freely do God’s will. Fulfillment: The New Covenant fulfills the often-broken Old Covenant by addressing the human heart’s inclination toward sin. In short: The New Covenant is the covenant established by Jesus, which works through grace and not through strict adherence to the law, by renewing hearts so that they love and obey God in spirit. The final destruction of the Old Covenant and all of Israel's leaders was carried out by the Roman army, as Jesus had foretold (Matthew 24:1-2). Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans under Titus in 70 CE in response to a Jewish revolt (the Jewish War, 66-70 CE). The Romans besieged the city for months, captured it, and destroyed the Second Temple, resulting in a massive loss of life and the enslavement of many Jews. Who: The Roman troops under the command of Titus (the future emperor). When: September 70 CE. Reason: As a result of the First Jewish War, which was triggered by a Jewish revolt against Roman rule. Destroyed: The Second Temple and large parts of the city. Blessings
The Hebrew word "zakar" is used in an interesting way in Isaiah 43. God is telling Israel that He would deliver them from the Babylonian Exile. (word is highlighted)….
Isaiah 43:14-19 (NKJV)
14 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer,
The Holy One of Israel:
“For your sake I will send to Babylon,
And bring them all down as fugitives—
The Chaldeans, who rejoice in their ships.
15 I am the Lord, your Holy One,
The Creator of Israel, your King.”
16 Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea
And a path through the mighty waters,
17 Who brings forth the chariot and horse,
The army and the power
(They shall lie down together, they shall not rise;
They are extinguished, they are quenched like a wick):
18 “Do not REMEMBER the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.
Commentary: God had just reminded Israel earlier in the chapter how He had delivered them from Egyptian bondage. But He doesn’t want them to focus on passed events. God has a "new thing" planned for Israel. An even greater deliverance from the Babylonian captivity.
Moses law didn't end – this term needs corrected. Maybe say the ceremonial laws ended or something more accurate.
