If people have no idea what communism is, imagine yourself that situation: 5am. and a queue of 30+ people in front of butcher's shop waiting untit the shop opens at 9am. And when it opens you take what it has (beef with a bone for example) after 30minutes there is no meat in the shop beacuse of lack of supply. And of course you need to have coupons which enable you to buy 1000g meat a month in 250g increments / coupon parts. There were also coupons for grocery (sugar, wheat), gasoline, and even shoes. I remember that cos I grew up in communist Poland in the 80s. Regards to all entrepreneurs and self employed. From Poland, of course.
