Came here for background noise while painting miniatures from Cthulhu death may die boardgame. Fun to hear about the monsters you have to fight in game
Nyarlathotep is like Azathoths wet dreams then? Seeing as everything is his dream. Nyarlathotep is like his lustful dreams for power? He's gonna feel ashamed of them when he wakes up.
Another incredible adaptation! I love how you twisted his fear and impending doom of changing into the Innsmouth look into what actually ended up being the thing that saved him. His opportunity to leave the human world of death and suffering at the hands of inept leadership and greedy capitalists. Cosmic horror into Comic bliss. Such a great twist on my favorite Lovecraft story! Superb! A++ 😊
Why do people keep doing the same old cthulhu great old ones. Nyro, azothoth, yog. Literally all the really well known ones. Man make some about chaugnar faun or shudda m'ell. Some other cool but very hidden monsters. Chaugnar is the buddah elephant warshipped in hindu culture but really REALLY messed up dark god
While I appreciate the work it is really hard to listen to because the writing is not really good. Things like "beyong guman comprehension" are repeated every other minute.
This "Azatoth dreamed reality" got to stop. NO Azathoth did not dreamed reality. Its just a being of enormous power. But those flute players? Those guys's music give the physical constants to infinite universes woth each having completely different physics than out own.
To be honest many people misinterpret lovecrafts work many time they would see eldritch gods and be fine they don't make you crazy if you can handle it not even Azathoth has this ability there are cases in the stories Lovecraft wrote himself people saw Azathoth itself and was fine
So everything is unspeakable and unfathomable, it's quite ridiculous. Saying something is unspeakable doesn't really scare me. I would like some detail, none of this is really frightening to me, it's very elementary. They are all similar, the "Gods", are all just variations of each other. Sorry Lovecraft, I tried.
H.P.L's first reference to Azathoth was 'Azathoth: hideous name', from one of his notebooks.
I think this post gets Az wrong- in the Mythos, Az developed into the 'Blind Idiot God' who dreams the universe- Az is not conventionally powerful, it isn't even indifferent (like this vid says it is) it is unaware that it is even dreaming- it isn't anything and it everything, which is, IS AZATHOTH, and it is nothing at all, and Azathoth is all and nothing at all…
There is an interesting analogy to modern cosmology wherein the mass/energy of 'normal' matter (@4.9 %), dark matter (25%) dark energy (70%) photons (0.1%), and gravity (-100%) when summed together equals exactly… ZERO… (That is, the universe has a total energy of zero- cosmic horror, indeed!)
Just as a warning: By filling yourself with these ideas of what a god could be, you make it hard to articulate a better god with your own imagination otherwise. Lovecraft wasn't a healthy fellow, and as long as you remember that it's fiction, you're fine.
I had to take a shot every time the narrator said "beyond human comprehension", "forbidden knowledge", "cosmic horror " and "arcane rituals". I was sh*tfaced within 90 seconds. Mrah Si!!
At the risk of sounding like a total edgelord, I've always found the entities from Lovecraft to be far more believable than the nauseatingly human-centric comfort blankets which humans call gods.
Lovecraft's "divine" beings are, at best, indifferent to our existence, or openly hostile towards it, taking great pleasure in our suffering and demise, which seems far more in tune with the reality of our world and the universe at large, than the disgustingly narcissistic and wishful thinking of the majority of mankind's religions, particularly those of the Abrahamic stripe where there is some benevolent creator who will reward us for submitting meekly to its whims.
Anyone who studies history will know that there was never a peaceful or utopian era where mankind fell from grace, no "original sin" nonsense. We are violent and selfish semi-hairless apes who try to derive meaning from a chaotic and meaningless universe with imbecilic rituals, countless frivolous religions and whatever garbage we use to keep our little minds distracted and occupied.
The notion that any divine entity would actually care about us, and has gone through the effort of crafting our planet, the solar system, our galaxy, and the countless galaxies beyond it, just for US, is such a grotesque declaration of self-centered hubris I'm actually surprised the universe hasn't swatted us already for our presumption, but maybe it will, in time.
Azathotha awakening and dismantling reality IS NOT A THING!! it's from Lord Dunsany Mana-Yood-Sushai character which gets confused or for some reason made and avatar of Aza.. Nowhere in any of Lovecraft's writings does it remotely state or imply that If any of Lovecraft's entities would be able to do that,it would most likely be Yog-Sothoth since he's basically the entire mythos.

call the Elder Things our creators is a liberal use of the word. They own stock in the human production line.
Migos don't care about science they're here to make hip-hop music.
Migos wouldn't do that, they're all about music.
Tentacles don't defy reality or the laws of physics they defy skeletons.
Hastor isn't wearing a pale mask… unless that's a metaphor for his yellow robes.

Most of this isn't from Lovecraft's writings 😊

I would love to meet lovecraft. He created such a horrifying and fantastical world

Cool
I am that which is the absolution of raw material and thought. That which contains all evil and good.
Great story.
Azathoth is a spinning top on Yog sothoths tophat

I give thanks to Azasothoth
Where's shub niggurath?
Sounds like Azathoth enjoys polyrhythmic heavy stuff. I recommend Meshuggah and Gojira.

New drinking game – take a shot every time something is described as “beyond human comprehension”. You’ll be shitfaced in no time.
Am starting to wonder why I'm interested in this stuff😱🤯🫠

“Good” and “evil” are human concepts.. these beings simply ARE
So
does the first season of True Detective count as proper Lovecraftian horror??

The 9th brutal cosmic monster is Youtoob Ards.
