100 Years of Armenian Cinema

The Golden Apricot International Film Festival, one of the most anticipated events in the heart of Yerevan, is taking place between July 9-16. The festival opened with Jessica Woodworth’s Luka, which stars Armenian actor Samvel Tadevossian in one of the leading roles. The film’s producer, Angela Frangyan, is currently under blockade in Artsakh and was not able to walk down the red carpet or share the event with her colleagues. We spoke with Karen Avetisyan, Artistic Director of the Golden Apricot, Luka’s Director Jessica Woodworth, and Luka’s co-producer Angela Frangyan about surviving uncertainty, finding solace in art and the power of film.
