Hamshen Armenians — also known as Hemshinlis — first settled along the southeastern coast of the Black Sea from the end of the 8th century, tracing their roots to Armenian princes who fled Arab persecution and founded a thriving community in the Pontic Mountains. The Pontic culture shaped Hamshen Armenians for generations, influencing their traditional music, dances, and language, traces of which are still visible today. Hamshen Armenians have traditional dances accompanied by their local musical tunes played on instruments such as the Tulum (Pontic bagpipe), Shimshir-Kaval (a type of flute), and Hamshna-Zurna. Their dance tradition is one of the most distinctive and ancient in the Armenian world — a living bridge between centuries of history and the present day.
«Համշենական պար» — կատարում է «Բերդ» պարային համույթը, բեմադրությունը՝ Հայաստանի մշակույթի վաստակավոր գործիչ Կարեն Գևորգյանի։ Տասնամյակների ընթացքում Կարեն Գևորգյանը նվիրված աշխատանք է տարել հայկական ժողովրդական պարերի հայտնաբերման, մշակման և պահպանման ուղղությամբ՝ մոռացված ավանդույթները վերադարձնելով բեմ։
Համշենցիները հայ ժողովրդի հնագույն ճյուղերից մեկն են, որոնք դարեր շարունակ պահպանել են իրենց եզակի մշակույթը, երաժշտությունն ու պարային ավանդույթները Պոնտական լեռներում։ Նրանց պարն ուղեկցվում է Թուլումի, Շimşir-Կավալի և Համշնա-Զուռնայի հնչյուններով։
