I have also heard it called lots of things;

It’s not just about how anyone can take the power from you, but something about what happens wean you loose focus and misuse it.

Seems like a problem that’s easy to solve. Order a pair of tall servants to stand over the throne with a large board or have some kind of large stand constructed to protect the guy then enjoy the fruits of being king for a day. Yeah I know it’s a lesson about the burden of power, but it makes me question why Damocles just did nothing to try and protect himself you’re king give an order.
Hmm, the protagonist is still alive and in good health? Kind of atypical for an ancient Greek story.
Why didn't Damocles have the men who seized him arrested for assaulting his royal person? Why didn't he have the guards place shields above him?
If Damocles had to remain on the throne, why didn't he have thick quarter sphere of tables stacked over and around his back so that if the sword fell, it would stick or slide safely off the tables? Then he'd have been safe. Also, what about using the toilet? Was he supposed to hold it for a day while drinking alcohol and feasting? Finally, healthy people do not sit all day, it would be bad for one's legs, back and overall circulation.
