He was doing his job…. Kill or be killed….. that's war folks.
"What a poof!!"
– Lord Flasheart
Speculating on whether Manfred von Richthofen would have become a Nazi is like speculating on whether James Dean would have gone bald. Both outcomes are possible, maybe even likely, but the vicissitudes of fate spare us from having to dwell too long on either. (In fairness, Mick Mannock, Britain's highest-scoring ace, could sound just as bloodthirsty in his own correspondence.)
❤
I love his pizza
The Red Baron kick so much ass!
The red baron was a butcher not deserving the accolades given to him as he only used to attack the inexperienced/novice pilots flying who were easy targets. I do not rate him at all.
His name was Manfred NOT Manfried. Annoying
I believe that an Australian rifleman, I think his name was Peter Pumpkin DID shoot him down. It is believed that the angle Roy Brown shot at him , it was impossible for him to shoot him down. When Brown made his report, it was said there were discrepancies in his report. Baron Manfred Von Richthofen was given full military honours.
No, the reason why he chose to be a pilot is because he was a nobility and he was afraid to actually see Hand Hand combat most nobilities or actually cowards that’s why they would not join infantry line or become captains. Instead, they will became pilots or something got to yell at the people going over. Nobles barely ever seen head to head fighting. Would you expect cowards to do but I have the fight for them
Do you have a place where you cite your sources?
The Royal Guardsmen- Snoopy vs The Red Baron
He had a brother
Lothar Richthofen was shot down by Canadian William Stephenson. Years later, during WW2, Sir William Stephenson was the spymaater and go-between for Roosevelt and Churchill. His code name was "Interpid".
A story worth telling. thank you.
ein wunderbarer Pilot
I believe that Manfred Von Richtoven was the greatest fighting ace for Germany.
Great video a great Documentary I remember watching it back in my youth years thanks for sharing this video 👍
Excellent documentary, but I'm a bit surprised Hermann Göring is never mentioned.
Remember, these pilots frequently battled diarrhea—a side effect of the castor oil used to lubricate their rotary engines. The rotary engines expelled a constant mist of the oil, which the pilots breathed in during flight.
Södra Sverige 😢😂❤😅😊.
There was no such thing as the Royal Air Corp. It was the Royal Flying Corp.
Would have Manfred von Richthofen become a Nazi, had he survived WW1? We shall never know.
The Wright bros used a slingshot to propel the plane. The first real flight was made by Santos Dumont.
Not a word about his delicious pizzas in the "whole" documentary. It's like there's a slice missing.
the red baron was a hero to his country and fought clean and fair. noble and proudly. defending his homeland. it would have hurt him to see East Prussia given to Poland, and the killing of german farmers shot by the polish.
the baron never lost a dogfight. the caliber and angle of impact indicate a soldier on the ground fired the round that killed him
Ace or whatever… Just another soulless creature!
Just remember, in this theater, as in any theater of war, one is hunting while being hunted.
Is there Anyone whom has heard about the burning of Hannover ?!? University town, no military whatsoever…..
And today the German tanks are again, being sent against Russia ….What would you think that will be the outcome ?!?
Yes, as male I have to admire his confidence !
A good presentation but, you filter in a context that at his time wasn't present and that's the Na-is. Almost as if you trying to say, See, he was a bad man. Many people over the ages have had predispositions to many other peoples. an example is, How would you like to talk about the English predisposition to the Irish? Or, let's go this way, the Muslim predisposition to any one non-Muslim? With that said, I don't know why you would tie in the Red Baron to the Na-is? As I said, He wasn't even present when they came into power. Just what kind of narrative are you trying to set?
Still a Richthofen squadron in Germany today.
Flying Circus, love it, to think the Red Barron lead to Monty Python…
Story goes that The Red Baron was still alive when the first person got to hes plane ….. he uttered "Kaput !" and died your documentary states he was dead before anyone got to hes plane! 😉
And yes it does make a difference if he was dead or not after landing hes plane ……
The documentary is unwatchable due to adds.
Manfred 'the Red Baron' von Richthofen is your great uncle's brother's wife's first cousin once removed's wife's ex-husband's nephew's wife's first cousin once removed's husband's uncle.
Good pizza
Heard so much about him, so glad to see you guys have covered him! Thanks for all you do
My partners great grandfather was part of the Australian machine gun unit that was believed to have been responsible. I would like to believe it was the Canadian pilot just because the Red Baron was a such a legend
