Everyone criticize the USSR for the crimes committed against civilians in this comment section. Are you aware of the scale of the crimes against humanity committed by the USA and its allies in the same years?
Fun Fact: The Filipino who infuriated Nikita Khrushchev is Lorenzo Sumulong, the event is known as the "Shoe-banging incident"
(On 12 October 1960, head of the Filipino delegation Lorenzo Sumulong referred to "the peoples of Eastern Europe and elsewhere which have been deprived of the free exercise of their civil and political rights and which have been swallowed up, so to speak, by the Soviet Union")
❤❤❤❤
you use the weirdest stock footage, like the eyes at 8:50
This biography gave me chills. So inspiring and deeply moving.
If you are studying history, especially modern European history, as I am, then this is a must
Thanks
remember your oaths. you have a choice to follow unlawful orders or to follow your oath to the constitution. like my GPA said we all have a choice and a voice but our military men and women have the biggest when standing up to a unruly leader. he would also say I told you this could happen and now you have a choice to be on the right side of history or you can be the reason our nation falls
It seems to me that the Soviet leaders became prisoners to their own ideology and succumbed to its faults as well as their own desires for wealth and power

You either forgot to mention, or omitted it on purpose, that after the bloodless Bolshevik revolution in 1917, there was an "allied intervention" into Russia where the White Army got the support from the West (USA, Canada, Australia, UK and most of European countries) in fighting the Red Army. West wanted to use the situation in Russia to conquer it and split Siberia amongst themselves. If the Red Army had not won, the Russian/Soviet people would have faced the same destiny as that of the North American Natives!
He was more disappointed more concerned about the about the design the architect deny a🪶🏷️ genocide, USA secret service dictatorship, he was educated he wouldn't persuaded in any way📤📥🖋️🗃️📦
Mr Khrushchev Kikita what we know he was the man with the right credentials
right choice for the President with confirm military service, was unwilling to tolerate be bullied, By The USA secret service war treasuries from genocide of my nationality Native America indigenous .
Taught provoking but seen only through the prism of Marxism. That said, very interesting and challenging.thank you D Mullins
He was a hypocrite who overcame his origins to liberalize the Soviet government. He freed kmy cousins from Stalin's imprisonment and backed down from nuclear confrontation in 1962. he netted out to be a positive force when he achieved power.
A victim of circumstances and culture of a political system. During his leadership the information presented was not made available. The psychology of an individual is😮 hard ,if not impossible to judge. Greg in Southern Ontario Canada 🇨🇦.. 🇨🇦..
And it was not khrushchev that saved the world from uter destruction it was colonal olg proskovski the russian spy himself cause if it weren't for him to warn the u.s intelligence what was going on behind closed doors the u.s would have faced the same fate of pearl harbor but a thousand times worse so thankyou colonal olg proskovski your the true hero and the best spy in the world rip 🙏 😢
Khrushchev kind of reminds me of mussolini ball headed with the same attitude lol 😅😂
I loved that Walt kept him out of Disneyland.
I remember him telling Pres. Kennedy to turn the U.S. over to them and nothing, for us, would change. That was when the dems. were real Americans.
This is an informative and interesting account of Khrushchev Soviet Leadership. However, there seem to be a lot of inconsistencies that make no sense. U2 spy planes fly on the border of atmospheric and outer space. The ability to fly in outer space means land-based missiles simply cannot fly high enough to reach such reconnaissance aircraft. The shooting down of U2 reconnaissance aircraft by missiles is not possible. Then there is a claim that an U2 aircraft was shot down in Cuba which is completely ludicrous. If an U2 was struck at its operation elevation the U2 would have been able to cruise back to the US mainland. The Cuban island is too small for the U2 crash land. The U2 pilot would have reached the US mainland given the elevation it was operating at. The inconsistencies made in this video documentary means we must again question fabricated claims made in so-called video documentaries. For the people who live in the land of free speech we must question every distortion, exaggera-tion, and lie presented to us.
We in Sri Lanka Ceylon in was informed by a newspaper publisher they expect to print a English newspaper
So on the day new newspaper was about to release was on 15th October 1964 in Sri Lanka
So Chief Editor was waiting for a Break in news to compete with other English newspapers
So kept heading opened for hot
news
Reuters issued news item stating President Nikita Khrushashow was outstead on 14th October 1964
So Newspaper Called, " The Sun " sold as hot cake
This was historic edition in Sri Lanka Ceylon in 1964
Nikita Khrushchev was a political leader, state man and a hypocrisy for not recounting on his bad deeds during Stalin's era.
Nikita Khrushchev was a more moderate Communist leader. I heard that he denounced Stalin's famine policies after Stalin died and tried to institute reform in agriculture. He was an interesting man. Thank you for this eye-opening video of a Soviet Union leader.
20:11 just wanted to point out that the OUN originally worked WITH the nazis but changed their political image over the course of the war for their own benefit. regardless they were a far-right org. closely modeled after fascism.
He seems like a capable technocrat type leader. The only issue with him is his personality. He's too prone to those temper anger tantrums, which I think it led to his downfall among his peers.
Not a very bad leader
Out of all the heads of state krushev was the only one that actually was in the forefront. Of WW2. Putin was a. Nobody in the KGB. An still is a little man with a napoleon syndrome a thug a murderer when he was in the KGB. a senior officer maid a teport statement that putin was a individual that had no regard for human life or human suffering in other words

Ukraine. A Made up territory. Much like Maldova
Peasent lowly name for a farmer who works the land and knows how to live off the land. Great word for the so called political class to call low lives.
The biggest problem with the Cold War was the Americans thinking they were so much superior to any other countries. They're not…..but they are definitely one of the most paranoid. So their approach is to invade.
"During the Second World War, in 1940, the OUN split into two parts. The older, more moderate members supported Andriy Melnyk's OUN-M, while the younger and more radical members supported Stepan Bandera's OUN-B. On 30 June 1941 OUN-B declared an independent Ukrainian state in Lviv, which had just come under Nazi Germany's control in the early stages of the Axis invasion of the Soviet Union.[26] OUN-B pledged to work closely with Germany, which was described as freeing the Ukrainians from Soviet oppression, and OUN-B members subsequently took part in the Lviv pogroms.[27] In response to the OUN-B declaration of independence, the Nazi authorities suppressed the OUN leadership. Members of the OUN took an active part in the Holocaust in Ukraine and Poland."
1:04:25 who is the tall man in the group photo? He must be 7' or taller .
Excellent documentary
thanks
Like most Soviet leaders from all levels and present Russian leaders; full on hypocrite. The people they murdered stay murdered; the families ethnically cleansed still are displaced; land stolen from private people to other counties stay stolen; lives and reputations destroyed stay destroyed. We often talk about the great weight of crimes that weigh on the German public conscience as a result of trusting Hitler. They at least have been addressed and acknowledged and amends have been worked towards. If you look at the crimes of the Soviet Union and all the Communist regimes they supported and established, Hitlers crimes pale in comparison. Never to diminish the crimes of the Nazis we must also add to the evil the eminence destruction caused by communism and now the Russian Federation as they take their Q from Soviet aggression.
11:51 is that Beria on the right ( left if your facing their direction)

How do you cover the bay of pigs and not talk about Nuclear build up in Turkey? Lol
“The Hangman of the Ukraine”
Thanks for a good, thorough job on this documentary.
He was a hypocrite, standing against the former crimes of the regime – crimes he committed & sanctioned. He didn’t stand against those crimes for reasons of self-preservation, & only after Stalin was dead.
Nikita was the General Secretary of the politbyro, not the Premier.
As a kid growing up in the 50 – 60's I swallowed the narrative that Khrushchev was an uneducated bumpkin. He obviously wasn't. Running the soviet union was a herculean job that only became managable upon the disintegration of the union. Very interesting doco. He was the last real leader until today's Putin.
Get the book Krushchev remembers , the last testament , if you want the other side of the story to balance the equation . There is two sides to every story !
Kennedy Murder seems NeoCons got annoyed ……
Nikita Khrushchev was the Great Cornholio!
