The "generals" file? Good grief
Comment if you’re English 🏴
I really like it but please make a shorter
Thank you for posting this 💔
Your storytelling turns dry history into blockbuster drama – pure cinematic magic
what a great documentry, i love it
This king did not get enough credit for his achievements… Not even today. It is he who built a foundation for the Kingdom of England.
People go on like our ancestors the saxons did not stand a chance against the vikings well they did, mercia and northumbria was already depleted by many battles with the picts, mercians and irish raiders also one another the vikings took advantage off this and invaded the undefended lands the west saxons mostly stayed out as they was smart but did have there fair share of tribal warfare that is why wessex put up more off a resistance also helped alfred was a genius. The saxons where very good at adapting too once they learned how the vikings fought they pushed them out off england im really tired off movies making put the Vikings where this honourable invincible war machine and the saxons where pussy hole cowards, they where really good at fighting yes but they was far from honourable and the saxons won more then there fair share of fights and beat them against all odds many times like when wessex fell and alfred battered the viking horde taking it back they beat the vikings so bad there leader converted to christianity
i am supprised seeng the word gufu in inglish histry .did u know the faroe who build the greet pyramid of giza his name was gufu.
He was king of Wessex only so gould not be Edward the I of England which was still not a united country
Sub Roman Britain / Early Medieval, no, its the Anglo Saxon period you woke sausage!
I literally paused halfway to try this myself, and it worked. You’re a legend.
Thank you for this documentary on Edward the Elder. I know so much about Alfred the Great. It would be great to hear more documentaries about the other Anglo-Saxon kings like AEthelred the Unready. I enjoy these documentaries as I learn so much.
Saxons ❤🇩🇪🏴
Watching a lot of your stuff at the minute. This one was great. There's very little detailed work on these pre-Norman Conquest monarchs on YouTube. Keep up the good work.
Beautiful soundtrack and serene narrative, with a particularly interesting period that was somewhat obscure for a spaniard like me. My favorite documentary anywhere this year so far.
I don’t have any books available where does Edward the confessor come into this?
Why was Edward's sister Ethelflaed not mentioned more in this video? She was the Lady of Mercia. She ruled Mercia and led its army even while her husband Ethelred was still alive, as it appears he had some sort of long-term illness, and of course, after he died. She was probably the main leader of the army at the first battle of Chester and at Tettenhall and she brought up his son Athelstan. She has not been given her due credit.
Restore the true saxon kings of England. Get rid of Charles, the traitor athelstans descendants
Great content idk why but I love these videos everything history related I like keep up the great work
Too many ads.
I have done 10 to 12,000 hours of genealogy work, the English part goes back to early Jamestown, and on my wifes side, she is a certified Mayflower descendant, as are my 3 children. I farm cotton in West Texas, but was a CPA with a MBA in economics in DFW most of my life. Kent Crutcher – the name Kent is where the Jutes settled at 500AD, eastern England, the Jutes being with the Angles and Saxons. It is my believe that Jutes is synomous with Judah, and Saxons with Isaac of the Bible, and Sakh-Saka, the Scythians, formed after the 745 BC of Israel after the Assyrian conquering. Crutcher is an English or Welsh word meaning dweller at the crossroads. There are Crowthers in northern Germany today, which must have been with the 500AD people that conquered eastern England then. If I read my genealogy charts correctly, I descend from Edward the Elder, down to Edward III. Edward III's son Lionel Plantaganet, Duke of Clarance, had a daughter Phillipa who married which turned into the Harris family in America, centuries later. This is my mothers side. On my fathers, I can trace back into the Scotch Irish, the Ulster Scots that started coming to America, about 1720ish, then back to Ireland, then Scotland, then Scythia, then Israel. I tie into Robert Bruce, the maker of the Scottish Declaration of Independence, and also tie into Mary his sister, both through the Campbell Clan. I have not done any genealogy work in 15 years, the time I have been farming SW of Lubbock. I have come to believe there is a spirit world around us, it interacts with us, if we will but be attuned to it all – you need a clean pineal gland – malic acid and epithalon a peptide, does that. I think this spirit world wanted me to know my genetic heritage, before the past 3-400 years in America. I think these folks you talk about and their descendants are most likely descended from the Israel dispersion of 745 BC. Jesus said – Matthew 15:24 – I came only for the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel, and 10:5-6, Go not to the gentiles but go rather to the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel. This throws a brick into modern Christian theology that Jesus came for everyone, all people are the same, we all pray to the same god, jewsaregodschosen.
In Southest have co king too china have but not as important it like a viceroy but have to stay in city when king is away 13:38
You just gotta love these names 😂😂
Astonishing narrative! Although, I’d prefer less images or videos and more maps.
😇🩵🙏🙌
Edward the welder ,
Can we get a King Steven profile documentary?
The soundtrack at 25:00 is fire 🔥
He should be one of the greats. Yes his father did a lot. When Edward the elder became king. The things he did. Help his son to do the things he did.
Excellent insight into an often overlooked figure in the creation of England. 🏴🌹
