Good for Ivan for taking out so many muslims 👍
Fascinating history. I agree, Ivan was too multi-layered in his achievements and ambitions to be reduced to being merely terrible. Although, he definitely had terrible aspects about him.
there is a movie named "IVAN the terrible"
what does this make it, 500 years ago
Did anyone noticed that he said 1556 at exactly 15:56
😅
"the marriage was a happy one they had many children 3 boys 3 girls" next sentence: 4 of the 6 died in infancy….well damn thanx for the false hope narration 🤦🏾😂
My favorite, though, is Peter I

I'd enjoy history more without the over-the-top brit accent.
A contemporary large women with short, thick jacket, tied back black hair and sun glasses. Late 20s early 30s. Reflecting off polished marble.
Terrible is what he became….so it is natural- that this is how he was remembered….his early behaviour being eclipsed by his latter….once the appendage was establish….so he has become known to history
He was not the first Tsar of Russia.
He may have been deaf but thank God he wasn't trans

Ivan the based
Serbian DNA,JAKSIC AND NEMANJICI
Ivan IV Vasilyevich, also known as Ivan the Terrible, was the first ruler to be officially crowned as Tsar of All Rus in 1547. However, he was not the first individual in history to bear the title "Tsar."
The term "Tsar" derives from the Latin word "Caesar," a title used by Roman emperors, symbolizing supreme authority and sovereignty. The earliest recorded use of this title in a Slavic context was by Tsar Simeon I of Bulgaria, also known as Simeon the Great. He declared himself Tsar in 913, during the height of the First Bulgarian Empire, following successful campaigns and the expansion of his realm. Simeon's adoption of the title signified his aspiration to position Bulgaria as a cultural and political successor to the Byzantine and Roman Empires.

This isn't the documentary I remember. The narrator was different and there were more reenactments.
