We just got a rare update on how Warren Buffett is investing now in the year 2023. Buffett is universally regarded as the greatest investor ever. Thankfully for us, a few times each year Buffett is required to submit what is called a Form 13F. This document provides a behind the scenes look at all the stocks Buffett and his investment team are buying and selling. And boy did this send some shockwaves through the stock market that you need to be paying attention to.
Warren Buffett is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. As CEO of Berkshire, Buffett is responsible for managing the Berkshire Hathaway stock portfolio. Buffett’s stock portfolio consists of stocks such as Apple, Bank of America, American Express, and Coca-Cola, just to name a few.
The first 3 stocks Buffett bought in the second quarter of 2023 are DR Horton, NVR, and Lennar. These 3 stocks were new additions to the Berkshire portfolio and are worth going into more detail on each one.

US is spending more and more. Which means more debt, which means you need to get people to buy this debt. So interest rates go up to entice people to buy the debt. Which means less people can afford to buy a home. Which means DR Horton and Lenar might not be such a wise investments at this moment. Price will come down.

Just curious, there are thousands of homeless in the US and a lot of vacant homes from the 2008 big short. Why would they need more homes? More people can't afford and surplus?
I have a feeling that Lennar will go down as another Dexter shoe for Buffet. They won't necessarily end up insolvent but he ain't gonna make any $ either.
And, for the longest time, his advice was to avoid excessive diversification (because you might as well just buy broad indexes at that point). Now he's spreading himself way thin. It's a sign that he feels the transparency of individual companies is becoming too difficult to glean and/or he feels markets will follow a different structure going forward (and he's right).
