Half these guys says is true other half is bs. U can’t go to Hawaii and depreciate remember irs has a rule of ordinary and necessary. And going to Hawaii with ur wife slash partner is asking for an audit. Second u can’t use a truck car ect Togo look after ur property your fn wrong. Worrying about taxes is a waste of time. Grow your income and you will have plenty of money to pay taxes and have left over regardless.

You have to repay tax on the depreciation if you sell the property. Whatever you depreciate, you pay ordinary income when selling the property unless you do a 1031 exchange.
