Its interesting how it refers to the "English" parliament in the period after the union of parliaments. After the Acts of Union in 1707, the English Parliament ceased to exist as a separate entity and was replaced by the Parliament of Great Britain. This new parliament was formed by merging the English and Scottish parliaments, following the ratification of the Treaty of Union. The Parliament of Great Britain then became the legislature for the newly unified Kingdom of Great Britain. This also partly explains the reason why they say Scotland was subsumed into England..it wasnt and still isnt.
