Commodus was a Roman Emperor who inherited the throne from his esteemed father, Marcus Aurelius. He is infamous for his erratic and tyrannical behavior, abandoning state affairs for a life of luxury and a bizarre obsession with gladiatorial combat, even participating in the arena himself while styling himself as Hercules. His reign marked a significant decline in Roman stability and ultimately ended with his assassination.

Every Emperors eternal reputation was dependent on grouchy grumbling senators: not the most firm balance of judgment: personally I feel the Legions had a better feel of events and progress
HS Freshman marrying 5th grader type beat 😂
No Geta?
It’s ironic that a narcissist like himself was killed by a Gladiator named “Narcissist” 🤔🤷🏽♂️I think he wanted the fame of his father yet in his own right.🫡
Commodus was a pimp
He honestly kinda just seems like he didn't know what he was doing half the time. A common frat boy with wayyyy too much power.
Make a video on Emperor Aurelian
Sounds a lot like Donald Trump 😂
The apple did fall far from the tree.
There were no pills for mental illness in those time; many kings and Emporors brokedown or were simply born with these issue. It is just sad
Tyrant
Is the main source cited JEFF?
I don’t know how much I trust a historian named Jeff…
Homosexual government history. Nothing more. Rome didn’t fall, it changed costumes. Now it is the same homosexual government called the Roman Catholic “Church”. No organization has produced more historical homosexuals than Rome. All conveniently wrapped up in a faux religious costume. People love this garbage.
Trump of II centure AD.

There's way to much ads. YT is getting worse unfortunately. I'll look into the Spotify link instead.
👍
Can we all agree if this is in an established era, a la BC, AD, CE they don't have to say it after everytime a year is mentioned? 😅
Im sorry but Marcus Aurelius is not as good an emperor as everyone says because of Comedus
Stupid thumbnail art. Stop with the scowling under the brows stuff.
Very good. Thank you.
How can your dad br Marcus Aurelius, n you shit the bed this bad….
Looks like Hunter Biden with a fuller, darker beard.
If Marcus A was so good , why did he allow his son to take over? Surely , he knew how deranged was his son.
COOL
why does the word" commodious " mean comfortable and homey?
Marcus Aurelius handed Rome over to Commodus. I think MA deserves more criticism for that… it's why he was "last of the five good emperors"
A father has little control over what his son becomes.
They also called him “man with many names”
Excellent as always. A similar character, please consider covering Elagabalus. 😊
He wasnt mad they just hadnt perfected the cappuccino yet 🤐☕️
